I like to listen to what people have to say. I'm endlessly curious about why people act the way they do, what they want in life, where they come from, where they are going. I love to spend my time with people who have a goal or philosophy. I find people who are "lost" interesting as well. People who say "whatever" frequently to mean "I don't know how to deal with life" bore me.

Recent DC transplant. I work at an architecture firm. When I'm not cursing Microsoft I study organizations using ethnographic methods and plan space (offices, hospitals, schools, towns, cities, etc).

Learning new things - games, languages, skills. Excising bullshit. Public speaking.

Getting people to talk about the really important things in their work/lives (I do it for a living).

Curly hair hands down.

Fiction and nonfiction, I prefer rich prose but there's room for Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. Currently reading Theory in Action by Argyris and Schön, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, A Tale of Two Cities by Dickenson and 青铜时代 by 王小波. I jump genres multiple times a week.

Music -- jazz, classical, house, dubstep and hyphy when the moment is right (the moment is very, very rarely right). Rachmaninoff. Rachmaninoff. Rachmaninoff.

Smart TV is the best TV. Game of Thrones, The West Wing, The Wire, old favorites. Trailer Boys. The Colbert Report over the Daily Show but either over local news..

Any movie with a witty or powerful script. Lincoln. Crappy, banal dialogue ok provided classic martial arts (叶问) or mind-blowing special effects like inverted gravity and/or space (Oblivion).

I love spicy food, though it can be punishing.

How people organize--how is it people come together to make organizations function? Will lunch be catered today by the office? What is the future of humanity? Is that our responsibility? When is the next bus coming?

Hanging out with friends, deep, deep in conversation. Or out on the town. If your typical friday night is "wasted, at the club nourishing my inner gangster chick!" you should move on to another profile.
