My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have an insatiable lust for knowledge, if I don't know how something works I have a hard time resting until I find out. I am seriously addicted to wikipedia, and it causes me to lose more sleep than any worries ever could. It should go without saying that I am a nerd, and that I am fairly comfortable with that.

Despite all of that, I do actually kinda like people, and I tend to get along with them pretty well. There are few things in life I love more then a hearty, simple home made meal with some friends, a drink or two and some smart conversation.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a Junior in the Mechanical Engineering program at PSU. I also have a job as a staff machinist in the science support shop, where I get to make experimental equipment for researchers in all of the natural sciences at PSU. It is awesome and I love every minute of it.

Most of my free time is spent with friends just hanging out, nerding about on the internets, playing videogames or puttering around in my shop at my house making something nifty. I love to bake when I should be doing homework.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Turning large bits of metal into slightly smaller, but much more precisely shaped bits of metal.

Cooking simple yet awesome food. Why is it that the poor people of the world have always come up with the best food?

School. For the first time in forever I feel like I really have a handle on this thing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a very long beard, that I keep neatly trimmed. I like it, it is like a friend of mine that is attached to my face!

These are just some that have struck my fancy in the last little while:

Books: Enders Game, Tuesdays with Morrie, PIHKAL: A Chemical Love Story, Stranger in a Strange Land, World War Z. Most recently I have been reading The Botany of Desire, which is one of the more fascinating books I have come across in quite a while.

Movies: Any Documentary ever. I just watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi, and the entire thing made me swoon. Other then that a few selected works might be A Clockwork Orange, Zombieland, The Graduate, You, Me and Everyone We Know, V for Vendetta, Oldboy, and Wall-e makes me feel like a pie filled with cakes.

TV: Downton Abbey, Adventure Time, Modern Family, Misfits, QI, Parks and Rec, ATHF, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, 30 Rock, The Daily Show & The Colbert Report, Dexter, Mad Men, there are lots more that go here.

Music: ALL OF THE CHIPTUNES I CAN POSSIBLY LISTEN TO, The Flashbulb, Justice, RJD2, Brian Eno, Slagsmalskluben, The Venetian Snares, DJ Shadow, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Ratatat, Mum, Trash 80, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, eDIT This is just a cross section, you can extrapolate from there. Been listening to a lot of chiptunes and dubstep lately, Bassnectar and Kid Unicorn keep creeping into my playlists...

Foods: Usually something savory and rich but simple and clean at the same time. Not to say that something complex and delicate is not lovely, but I enjoy making dinner with under 10 different ingredients for the entire meal.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
There are few things that one can not live without, but there are a lot of things that one likes and values in their life. My biggest addiction though? Information.

After that? Probably good food, friends and family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I have been learning to blow glass lately, so I have been thinking a lot about how to make gooey drippy molten glass do my bidding. The entire process is akin to herding cats.

How to do my part in getting humans off of this rock.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My ideal Friday night is probably to spend a few hours cooking dinner for myself and my friends while drinking and chatting, then after we have all stuffed ourselves full of whatever foodstuffs we have made and go out to bars or maybe just stay in and chat until the small hours.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I think about dropping out of school and becoming a short order cook at a really busy diner.

You would like to touch my beard. Or go grab a beer with me. Either or.

You enjoy watching videos about space, and you don't think it is too nerdy to go out and watch the ISS when you can see it passing overhead.

If you make anything at all, for hobby or work. I am a sucker for a lady who can craft.
