I like to think that I have a good sense of humor, albeit a very
sarcastic and ironic one. Big geek when it comes to science fiction
and politics nut (I work in politics, so it kinda comes with the
territory). Must be why I love Game of Thrones so much. I like
meeting people who challenge my views, it's too boring when
everyone agrees with me.
I have a bucket list of things to do in the next few years
including backpack through Southeast Asia, go paintballing, and go
snowboarding. I feel like there are so many cool things out there
that I need to experience, so that list usually just keeps getting
bigger. I've been to several countries in Europe and two in the
Middle East, but I love traveling so much. Recently did a trip
through Croatia, Italy, and Greece.
When I'm bored somewhere, I like to think about how I'd escape if
zombies suddenly flooded into the location.
TL;DR: Don't like self-summaries, but I'm geeky, traveling,
politics, and I have a lot left to do
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from UC Berkeley in December. I finished my B.A. from
Berkeley while in Berlin, was working in Los Angeles on a political
campaign for a while, went back to Berlin, now I'm working in DC.
I’m really good at
Making spontaneous decisions, having a dry and sarcastic sense of
humor, and finding means of procrastination. I also have a talent
for finding ways of watching TV shows and movies in perhaps
somewhat less than legal means online, and I like swimming,
debating, making people laugh, and randomly exploring.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told my eyes are noticeable. That or the fact that I'm
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Really anything that's not death metal, different genres
have different things to offer. Some of my favorite artists at the
moment are Cage the Elephant, OneRepublic, Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Aerosmith, Of Monsters and Men, Black Keys, Seeed, the Killers,
Radical Face, Pentatonix etc.
Favorite TV Shows:
Anything by Joss Whedon (Firefly especially) or Aaron Sorkin (West
Wing and Newsroom), and Arrested Development, Modern Family,
Castle, Big Bang Theory, The Daily Show, Game of Thrones,
Community, White Collar. Also British TV shows: specifically QI and
Too many to list, but my favorite directors are
Joss Whedon (Cabin in the Woods and Serenity)
Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight and Memento)
Wes Anderson (Moonrise Kingdom and Royal Tenenbaums)
Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim)
Other movies include Star Trek, In Bruges, A Clockwork Orange, the
new Star Trek Movies, The Departed, etc. and most of the DC and
Marvel superhero movies.
Generally dislike horror movies. Saw Halloween when I was about 8
and haven't liked those types of movies since.
Favorite Books: World War Z, Game of Thrones, Exodus, Fight Club,
Dune, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Freakonomics,
Superfreakonomics, Catch 22, The Shining, Girl with the Dragon
Tattoo. Currently reading the Song of Ice and Fire series and the
Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
Food: Mexican, Indian, Thai, and Japanese food. Really anything, I
like trying new things.
The six things I could never do without
Sense of humor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
current events, ways to prank people, what I'm going to have for
dinner. Depends on the day.
On a typical Friday night I am
exploring Berlin at a club or bar or party or just wandering the
streets looking for something cool to explore, or just taking a
night off by watching a movie or reading a book to take the edge
off the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask what you want, I don't hold back much. But I guess it would be
that I don't think Nickelback is actually that bad of a band, or at
least some of there songs are halfway decent. Let the hate begin.
You should message me if
you want to. I really like when girls, and people in general, are
honest and forward.
If you're moderate or liberal politically, have a good sense of
humor, and/or can name every TV show Joss Whedon has ever done.
