My self-summary
Computer/bike geek finally finishing his degree. Graduating in June and going into software development.
What I’m doing with my life
Attending UChicago full time in the fall to finish my CS undergrad. (Took some time off/ went to school part time the past few years, hence the late UG degree)

My classwork consumes the majority of my time, but in my limited free time I try to get out for bike rides or just exploring the city.
I’m really good at
Cooking is something of a hobby of mine. I love making very involved dinners when I cook for friends.

Also, avoiding tourists and pedestrians while trying to ride at a moderate speed on lake front trail.
The first things people usually notice about me
Orange cycling jacket and large grey/red messenger bag I take everywhere and my bike. 95% of my trips are via bike so I am almost always either on it or carry some gear related to it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just a sampling.

-Dresden Files
-Y The Last Man
-Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
-V for Vendetta
-Sherlock Holmes

-Scott Pilgram vs. The World
-The Avengers
-The Bourne Trilogy
-Sherlock Holmes

-Cowboy Bebop

-Peter Fox
-Nine Inch Nails
-Cowboy Bebop OST
-Bastion OST
-Beats Antique

-All cuisines are pretty damn awesome.
-I love to do french cooking myself.
-I am starting to follow the Chicago food scene. So many great restaurants so little time/money.
The six things I could never do without
-Messenger Bag, I always am wearing one, whether to just carry a water bottle and other random items, or a full load of groceries/ textbooks, it is always on my back. Even when I am not biking I take it with me.

-Smart Phone, It is great for making sure I do not get too lost in the city, (I still have not memorized the streets well enough outside of Hyde Park).

-A well stocked kitchen. While this is multiple items I think this qualifies here. Cooking is a big deal for me as I get to create something tangible that I can share with others. I love trying to improve my cooking and trying new recipes.

-Bikes, I now have 2 bikes. I use my old hybrid/commuter for neighborhood trips/ when I am locking it up outside. I now have a new road bike I use for when I am just riding. I currently just stick to the lakefront trail, but at some point I want to learn more road routes.

-Laptop: mostly used for class work these days (programming). But also for surfing the internet aimlessly.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Computers/ programming, given my major of CS and my soon to be job of software development its kinda always on my mind.

Bike advocacy and bike racing. Bicycling is my favorite hobby and is my main free time sink. It is a huge part of my life from just getting around, to exercise and competition. Hopefully racing a bit this spring and summer.

Food, I love to cook but as of late I have been too busy/ unenthustic to cook much. Once my workload lightens up in spring I hope to get back into cooking more interesting meals.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having dinner with friends, going to an underground supper club, going to a whiskey bar, or just relaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I wish I went into welding or ironworking instead of college. I like making things with my hands. When I have time/ move out of the southside I might join a hackerspace.

Other possible alternative jobs would be bike messanger or cook/chef.
