I am easy-going, interesting, and fun.
My Self-Summary
I work in software, and music, movies and dance are my main sources
of leisure. I've been in this country for 12 years, and I love the
bay area, mainly because of the diversity here. There is nothing
Indian you don't get here, but there's also so many other cultures
to explore and enjoy. I love percussion, and there's always a
rhythm playing in my head. I'm very open-minded and liberal, and
not religious at all, though I am drawn to spirituality. Nothing
annoys me more than mindless adherence to religious dogma. I am
adventurous and love to try new things.
What I’m doing with my life
I work pretty hard, but insist on making enough time for play. I
love music and play with a
samba drum group. Never thought I was much
of a dancer until I discovered
salsa - I haven't been spending too much
time on it but I enjoy it when I do.
I don't travel nearly enough, but I'm working on that! There is so
much out there and I want to experience it all. Scuba diving and
horseback riding is next. And I can't wait to get to
Africa.
I’m really good at
I was never much good at bragging - but anyway...
- being responsible and understanding
- musical instruments
- appreciating
movies (major movie-phile)
- being a friend, though I suck at remembering birthdays!
- working with people
- most sports (actually playing them, not following them on TV)
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, my weird 'british english' expressions, my easy-going and
friendly nature
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - mostly non-fiction, stuff on evolution and religion, though
I loved 'Interpreter of Maladies'.
Movies - My cousin Vinny, Gladiator, Titanic, the Indiana Jones
movies, Stand By Me, Million Dollar Baby, Monsoon Wedding, most of
Hayao Miyazaki's movies (Nausicaa, Kiki's Delivery Service are my
favs), lots of indian movies
Music - John Mayer, Dead Weather, the Police, Norah Jones, Dixie
Chicks, Linkin' Park, Dire Straits, Eagles, salsa / bachata, lots
of indian music
Food - I like all kinds of cuisine, but my favs are Indian (of
course), Japanese, Middle Eastern, Mexican
The six things I could never do without
- Friends
- Family
- A job (to keep me busy and make me money)
- Drums
- Vacations
- Good food and drink
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work stuff (let's face it, we spend most of our lives doing that),
politics, where
I'm going to
travel
next, new experiences to try, things to do with the people I love.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a salsa or samba event with my friends, or chilling with dinner
and drinks or a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I tear up at the movies pretty often (I respond to stuff that is
genuine, not the sappy stuff)
You should message me if
You want to have an interesting and fun evening
