My self-summary
Practical, silly, intelligent, fun-loving atheist seeking similar for fun, friendship, and more. East-coast transplant, but have been out here for over a decade. Ex-catholic, with all of the baggage...? perks...? that that entails. I'm a good conversationalist and a good listener with a strong sense of humor and a sharp mind. Honesty, conviction, integrity, and straightforwardness are important values to me. I am loyal to a fault and I respect people who mean what they say and say what they mean.

I'm a big movie and anime buff and I also enjoy reading, spending time in the ocean (body-boarding, snorkeling, scuba, and attempting to surf :), hiking, camping, poker, pool, frisbee, and racquetball.

On the political side I lean libertarian.

I'm looking for someone similar but hopefully with some interesting differences.

I am responsible, unconventional, and experimental
What I’m doing with my life
Exploring, everything:

-interesting ideas
-interesting people (I collect them!)
-business opportunities

I returned to the corporate world 4 years ago, after working for a number of years as a freelance consultant and tinkering with business ideas. I work at the intersection of biotech and computers, supporting biofuels research.

I went to Burning Man five years in a row, but now I'm taking time off and focusing on the regional events and local burner community.
I’m really good at
-Learning something new.
-Seeing the big picture.
-Putting together seemingly unconnected things.
-Over-thinking and over-planning.
The first things people usually notice about me
I strongly prefer substance over style. Substance without style is fine, style without substance is terrible, and substance with style is amazing.

[ Food ]: Thai, Mexican, Japanese, and Chinese are favorites. Just about anything really, with some specific exceptions.

The six things I could never do without
Good friends, good conversation, sex, Costco, computer, interesting projects
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. Technology. Sustainable/responsible hedonism. Relevant tech keywords include: futurism, accelerating change, cryonics, nanotechnology, singularity, transhumanism.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at happy hour with friends, out dancing, in online, or watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not as vanilla as I appear.

Curious about the potential of responsible non-monogamy.
