I am a Hollywood native. (Isn't that rare?) At one point in time I wanted to enter the entertainment business as a cinematographer or an actor (never was interested in being a producer: after all, what do they do? No one seems to know). That is a part of my past, though. I decided early on in my college career (at UCLA) that I was destined for something different. After I graduated from UCLA, I applied to law schools throughout Southern California. I intend to have a life full of meaning and purpose. I graduated from Chapman University School of Law. My proudest moment as a lawyer was defending a businessman from a $35,000-$40,000 lawsuit. I filed a very simple motion, and the case against my client was literally thrown out by the trial judge. The other side appealed, but the appeals court affirmed the lower trial court (so I won). Now, I barely practice law anymore. I've started to move into the world of trading, and I love it. I enjoy theoretical [discussions] that sometimes only have a tangential relation to anything that applies in the real world. If I had not pursued a law degree, I most certainly would be in a Ph.D program in economics. I am aware that there are gaps in my knowledge, such as sports trivia, and what it is like to live on the moon. I love to discuss ideas. Ideas matter. If there is one person who has a profound influence on my thinking, it would have to be the American philosopher, Ayn Rand. To provide you with a broad range of the discussions that I have had recently with friends, much of it has to do with economic and psychologically oriented topics; independent music; the evil nature of collectivism-altruism-statism; why women and men act the way they do; the psychology of the stock market (and how it is possible to time it)--and why the government should be downsized dramatically back to the size that existed at the Founding. I am known for my dry humor and quick wit. I know how to relate to others quite quickly. I am a passionate optimist, and I’ll defeat every pessimist out there. I like quality literature (Dickens, Heller, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Ayn Rand). I like quality-television programming (24, South Park, The Simpsons, Lost, Pan-Am, and Mad Men). I like to think logically. I like challenges. I like rational, intelligent, and strong women. There is a lot of joy in meeting someone new and wondering about who they are.

Vernon (President Washington's Estate), Adams National Historical Park (home of presidents John Adams, and his son, John Quincy Adams), Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and the Confederate White House (home of the only Confederate President, Jefferson Davis).
If you like Ayn Rand's ideas, it is very likely we will get along. I like people who are able to think and don't just copy the latest slogans that they hear. I am an Objectivist.
I like women who are intelligent, powerful, and are confident with their vision of life.
