I am creative, witty, and interesting.

My Self-Summary

I usually make these things way too long, 'cos I'm really wordy. So I've got to stop doing that.

A close friend of mine recently described me as being like a character from a really good book. A really good, wordy, British novel, apparently. Also, I like to wear hats.

Additionally, I have a very dopey cat who thinks he's a dog. Being a dog person, that works out well with me.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a graduate English student, on that whole teacher path. I got an undergrad degree in journalism, but I spent a year unable to find a job. So now I'm back in school, and it's better than you might think. Finally getting to take a lot of those cool lit classes.

I’m really good at

People seem to find me an interesting person. I think I'm a pretty good writer. Most of all, I try to always be dependable, and not go back on my word.

The first things people usually notice about me

I use a wheelchair. Well, people do notice, from a country mile. And then I run them over.

Otherwise it's my vocabulary, and "the way I carry myself," according to a lot of people.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) Oooh, geez. Lots and lots. Old, new, genre, non-genre. Mostly I read fiction but recently I've had a thing for biographies.

B) Movies...old ones, generally, or obscure ones. And I love a lot of TV shows - lots of British stuff.

C) Mostly alternative or rock, especially the Beatles, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, R.E.M.. I like some blues and jazz; Billie Holiday is a rainy-day favorite. I've recently become rather addicted to The Magnetic Fields.

D) My mother's spaghetti. My mother's mother was an Italian emigrant so Mom makes it just the right way. I also like Indian food and really really cheap Mexican.

The six things I could never do without

Oh, geez. Erm...

People to talk to; great ideas to have; other people's creativity to enjoy; er...world enough, and time.

Wait, that's five. Um...and air. Air's good. In its way.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Ideas for stories. Also, the future, which I can't really control.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home, probably, reading a book or watching a film and doing crosswords. Yes, I'm exciting. You too can know the excitement of my...er...crossword puzzle...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

If I ever tell you I trust you, it means I really, *really* trust you. It's rare.

You should message me if

...You're interesting, too! :) Friends are always good...maybe a date...but you know, sometimes just a nice conversation over cocoa can be really, really fun. Even virtual cocoa. With little digital marshmallows.

God, someone shut me up before I do myself an injury...
