My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love drive-in movie theaters and strange-but-true stories. I am an avid reader, well traveled, and really good at movie trivia. I'm outgoing, loyal, straight forward, independent, and creative. I value hard work, fairness, honesty, and openness. I like challenges and strive to constantly improve.

I grew up in Maine and went to college at a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, where I majored in English and studied philosophy and history. I worked at an art gallery throughout college and at times worked a second (and even a third) job. Once I graduated I joined Teach For America (which is how I ended up, rather randomly, in Texas). I lived in the Rio Grande Valley for two years and then moved to Houston in June of 2011.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teaching 8th grade U.S. History to students who come from a low socio-economic background. I firmly believe education is the gateway to opportunity and that no one's zip code should determine their access to a high quality education.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Organization, watching Law & Order SVU, being on time, listening, deciding which movie to go see, spades, gift giving, remembering who was in which movie, blackjack, napping, catchphrase
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've been told it's my smile and my eyes. When I don't straighten my hair (it's naturally curly), then sometimes it's my hair that people notice first.

music - jack johnson, elliott smith, tegan & sara, slightly stoopid, leon bridges, odesza

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family/friends, travel, cell phone, music, books, communication
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, where to go on my next vacation, my family & friends who live out of town, career goals, how I'm going to spend my summer off, job related stuff, which book I want to read next, which movie I want to see next..
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends or staying in Netflix bingeing
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
