As most of OkCupid users I have a hard time marketing myself and expressing my interests, so please be patient with me.

My name is Shawn. I grew up on a farm in Maryland where my family still lives today and according to most of my friends you would never believe I grew up on a farm. I am unsure whether or not that is a compliment.

I moved to Huntington, WV about 3 years ago to emotionally support a friend who was living here away from everyone they knew. I decided to stay after getting a wonderful job that has provided me opportunities that I would not have had back in Maryland.

I work a pretty consistent schedule so that also affords me time during the evenings. I enjoy spending that time doing a myriad of things that include reading, writing, obsession over television shows, riding roller-coasters and traveling. I am extremely excited to go to Canada's Wonderland this summer and for the other possible trips I have planned.

I am looking for a confident and mature individual to experience life with. I am long term oriented however I have never been in love so I am looking for someone special.

I divide my time between working and traveling around the country. I would love to open a pastry shop in the future after having traveled the world so all my small goals work towards that.

Cooking: I love to bake and cook dinners. I have an ever growing collection of cookbooks.

Writing: I have a blog that I update sporadically but even when I am not blogging sometimes I like to write just to maintain my sanity. I have files full of unpublished writing.

I have an infectious presence that will make you smile.

Shows: Shameless(UK), Gossip Girl, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Star Trek (esp. TNG and Enterprise), Once Upon a Time, True Blood, Sordid Lives, Bunheads, BSG, Drop Dead Diva Anything Joss Whedon or written by Jane Espenson.

Music: Ella Fitzgerald, Broadway (anything and everything) Kristen Chenoweth, Adele, Lady Ga Ga, Nicki Minaj, Mandisa, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Karmin, Jessie J. Overall I love a soulful female singer.

Food: Italian, Mexican, Soul Food. I am a pretty big fan of eating. Along with my cooking skills I am a professional microwave operator.

I could never do without my:

How I would have loved to live in the 20s-30s. How many more months until Kings Island opening day.

I like to either go see a movie or spend time with friends. Hopefully the friend time is accompanied by wine and Cards Against Humanity.

Funny thing about privacy, this would make it not private.
