My self-summary
I have got some pretty good socks.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing young adult science fiction for money during the day, writing an experimental western in the evening. Cooking my meals. Having a drink. Watching some baseball. Having some thoughts. Feelings some feelings. I had a novella come out in 2010, and my first book of poems is coming out in winter 2015. So there's that.

I like cooking dinner and spending time thinking about cooking dinner. I like the clothes I have. I like Oblivion by DFW and Enormous Changes at the Last Minute by Grace Paley and I like everything Donald Barthelme ever did. I mean just that he had this way of writing these really interesting and absurd pieces that were fucking funny and that had such deep unrepentant humanity and sadness to them, and without that, without that sincere root behind things, behind everything, I don't know. I mean, I do. I mean fuck it if it isn't rooted in some deeply real and felt thing, more or less. I feel like we should all of us mean it as hard as we can most of the time. And also 2666 and The Savage Detectives. And Barry Hannah and Renata Adler. And James Tate and Frank O'Hara.

And I really like Jasper Johns.
The six things I could never do without
Clean sheets. Windows. Awe. The idea of the moon and also bodies of water. The Philadelphia Phillies. Feelings.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Dinner. I spend a lot of time thinking about what to cook for dinner. And about whether or not this book I am working on aches hard enough.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I use Old Spice Original Scent Deodorant. I use High Endurance because lord knows I like to be endured.
