My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
README: If you're about to ask me for casual sex, no, please just no. I'm here looking for someone who wants to be in my life and know my soul. Thank you.

A very long time ago I fell in love with the internet, with the pursuit of slightly out of the ordinary activities (at various times: disc golf, curling, rock climbing, euchre, driving stick, riding dirtbikes, target shooting...) and with books. Books were my first and most important friends and remain beloved to this day.

Some things are a given, life without my niece and nephew isn't worth living; I prefer healthy food to junk, I consider myself deeply open-minded and care a lot about gender issues. I'm liable to be found dissertating about female roles as directed by toy manufacturers, how mainstream media diminishes women, how women diminish themselves and so on (and civic design and restaurant workflow and ) Fortunately I'm aware of this and other buttons so it's not too hard to head me off at the pass.

I'm an active human being and I love being outside in all seasons, but particularly when the sun is out and the heat is on, and I become miserable if I go too long without at least an afternoon spent outside among trees or natural landscape. There may be nothing sweeter than lolling under a tree at the beach on a sunny day; but if there is it probably involves hiking in the woods or exploring a new (or familiar) place with congenial company.

Now who I'm looking for? A real person looking for a real relationship. The kind of partnership where we both feel lucky, blessed, safe and able to be our vulnerable selves. Also laughter, quiet, adventure and conversation; lots of those.

Warning: I will compulsively try on your glasses or hat and I brake for butterflies.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Lately I've been studying the Alexander Technique at the most fascinating school I've ever attended, which is really improving my teaching skills and providing huge personal growth at the same time.
I've been hiking a lot, really enjoying my new (ancient - 40s) sit up bicycle and climbing again.

But the thing that's really got me right now is contact improvisation which is a dance form that came out of aikido. I tried it and fell in love just like I fell in love with climbing and Pilates and books and the Alexander Technique. There is something so utterly pleasing about this movement where you are mostly touching your partner at all times and yet it is neither gendered nor sexual. Not to mention that it's almost entirely weight bearing exercise in unpredictable directions which is phenomenal for balance and coordination!

I decided to ask my facebook wall and this is what I got - I know it's repetitive but I also found the repeats funny :):

You're approachable, and easy to be around.

Presence, joy, and laughter.

Tall...very tall

It's definitely hard not to notice the height.

'Amazonian Independence', but you're much more approachable and friendly than that.

Tells it like it is, open minded, great spirit, super honest, what you see is what you get, beautiful, friendly, kind, smart, very funny, awesome to be around... and so much more

Really, really tall.

I like your brain Sassinak.

I noticed your sincerity. You seemed to be one of those rare people who are real without being terse.

Books: all the books - Especially fantasy and movement/anatomy. Lately I've been reading a ton of YA fantasy novels, and particularly enjoying Rachel Neumeier and Frances Hardinge. The most difficult book I haven't finished yet is probably "Muscles and Meridians" by Philip Beach, would probably be easier to finish if I could remember who I lent it to!

Movies: movies for 12 year old girls (She's the Man), action movies without TOO much gratuitous violence (Star Trek, Marvel Universe,) movies that make me think and/or cry (Amistad, The Blind Side,) movies that empower women without diminishing men (Ever After.)

TV: agents of shield, arrow, tennis grand slams, grey's anatomy, doctor who (Tom Baker!! Just started the new one, loving it so far), the librarians...

Music: anything good from anywhere in the universe; rhythm is required. (current faves: elliphant, Taylor swift, Beatles, cat stevens, eddie vedder, buddy guy, etc... )

Food: all of it... except a nightshade and fungus problem... My first love may be italian pizza, I'd elaborate further but really I just love good food and I'm pretty willing to try new things. And now vegetarian foo...

Also snobby beer, so delicious and flavourful...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My self and my senses, everything else is gravy.

Less esoterically, good french fries, good books, the internet in all it's forms, my bicycle AND my car AND my sneakers and of course my cats and my family! I think I'm up to fourteen...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Alexander school and it's effect on my current teaching style.
Human anatomy and physiology.
What to do this evening
My friends' lives
My family's lives
My clients
My life wishes (such as learn to surf, see Asia, write a book)

you know, the usual
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dancing, with friends, watching TV, reading etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I ran away with the carnival once... and then I did it again.

I wish I could run off to New York for a year and study movement.

One time when I was alone on a road trip I drove for eighteen hours before I stopped for the night.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like yourself and summer rain and laughter and fitness and holding hands and random conversation about anything?

But mostly you should message me if you're serious. If you are looking for a connection with another human being and you hope to find someone you can learn and grow and partner and care for and be cared for and treasure and laugh and be yourself with; someone to lust and like and love in equal measure. Then you should drop me a line.
