I LOVE music and will usually choose music over TV.
I am a lover of jazz, blues, indie, rap, motown, The Beatles, Bob
Dylan, Aretha, great verve-remixes, musicals—thank you drama club
geek-dom—big-bands with any lady crooning, Latin Soul Syndicate,
Bebel Gilberto, The Black Keys, Shins, Mos Def, Bruce Springsteen,
Slim Gailard, Iron and Wine, Mary J Blige, PJ Harvey, DJ
Dangermouse, Beck, Roy Eldridge, Thelonius Monk...I could do this
all day... Ray LaMontagne, Radiohead, Cowboy Junkies...
Lots of books, at the moment I'm reading Middlemarch (again) The
Luminaries and The Power of Habit. A mess of cookbooks get used and
abused in my kitchen. I'd love to have someone to cook for!
Movies, I loved Almost Famous and put it on when I need time on the
couch. The usual suspects that come from growing up in the eighties
are well loved; Goonies, Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuller. I
appreciate fart humor (in person that's "Faht U-mah") I am also a
sap and loved the English Patient and The Notebook. I'm not a scary
movie fan, and haven't watched all the action hero movies, though I
loved Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (really Hugh Jackman as anything,
yum!) I sat through the Star Wars movies the first time around and
second thanks to my college sweetheart, or maybe not really
I do a lot of cooking due to my lifestyle. I am part vegan, part
pescetarian but don't really like tofu, there's lots of beans,
(insert faht u-mah heah!) legumes, nuts and some fish. Thai,
indian, Mexican flavors. I play with my dehydrator once and a while
and use my Vitamix at least once a day. I LOVE green smoothies,
nana ice cream, homemade hummus, sprout my own seeds and beans. I'm
a hippie Bostonian, we are a rare breed.
