My self-summary
I'm in the awkward in-between stage where bars are beginning to lose their appeal but I'm not ready to resign myself to dying alone just yet (that escalated quickly, huh?).

I think life is awesome, and I'd like to meet more people who appreciate it. I love being outdoors, and I'd take laying in the grass reading over watching TV any day.

I've traveled around a lot and I'm finally planted here and planning on being here for an extended period of time. It would be kind of nice to find somebody to spend some of this time with.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to school. Getting out and exploring every chance I get, becoming familiar with the greater Boston area. Spending my time studying and hanging out in the sun. Trying to cram as much science into my head as physically possible so I can do something meaningful with it one day.
I’m really good at
Building fires. Making lattes. Procrastinating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure. My eyes tend to receive the most unsolicited compliments though, so we'll go with that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I typically read non-fiction, but my two, go-to favorite chick-lit books are She's Come Undone (Wally Lamb) and White Oleander (Janet Fitch). But those are two of maybe 10 fictions (8 of which are probably vonnegut) you'll find on my bookshelf, the rest are all sciencey or autobiographical.

I've recently been spending too much time on Netflix instant stream and my recent favorites from there are The Giant Mechanical Man, Safety Not Guaranteed and just about every documentary in the documentary section (namely Zeitgeist, Forks Over Knives (and I'm not even a vegetarian, but it makes me feel like I should be). But my all-time favorites include Star Wars, Back to the Future, Gattaca, Yes Man and Amelie.

A couple recent musical favorites are Daughter, Benjamin Francis Leftwhich and Ben Howard. My musical preferences are frequently shifting.

I've developed a penchant for Italian food since I moved here earlier this year, but typically I prefer Indian or Thai food.
The six things I could never do without
A french press of dark roast within an hour of waking up (I'm a coffee junkie in general)
My running shoes
The ocean (I'm from the midwest, I have no idea how I managed to live 25 years without constant access to the water)
Random science documentaries
Books
Dating sites to make me feel less weird about my dating awkwardness :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The downfall of society. The origin of the universe. Human nature. How I can make the world a better place. Ball bearings. Spinal cords. How things work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Outside somewhere. Either outside having a glass of wine on some bar patio or a friend's backyard, at the ocean, hiking or camping in the mountains somewhere. The last place you'll find me on a Friday (or any) night is at some loud awkward club.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm actually incredibly photogenic and interesting in real life, despite what this profile might lead you to believe. Also I used to be an photojournalist in the Air Force. Who'd have thought.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–33
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're intelligent, ambitious, hilarious, strong-willed and passionate about something (anything).

I'm looking for someone who is down to either go camping and completely reject technology for a weekend, then turn around and spend the next weekend watching science fiction movies, on our respective laptops partially ignoring each other
