I am endearing, intellectual, and logical.
My Self-Summary
I'm currently a college student at a liberal arts school in
Chicago. The rest of my life is located in small-town Pennsylvania.
I spend my weeks reading, my weekends running around the city. I
love philosophy, traveling, tea, film, witty banter, cooking, wine,
autumn, and literature.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently embarking on my sophomore year of college. I'm
looking into joint J.D./Ph.D. philosophy programs and economic
anthropology as prospective courses of study for grad school. I
really enjoy academia (self-acclaimed philomath). I also try to
squeeze in as much traveling as I can. I stay up late, make tea for
breakfast, and am constantly making lists.
I’m really good at
Baking: I have a reputation for making killer brownies and
pavlova.
Organizing and planning things (or making the abstract tangible):
it can get a little intense sometimes and I should really just
learn to relax but I keep things coordinated efficiently.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am pretty (damn) short.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books:
a short history of nearly everything, the memoirs of sherlock
holmes, persuasion, the notebooks of malte laurids brigge (anything
rilke really), invisible cities (anything calvino), origin of
species, leviathan, catcher in the rye, nine stories, crying of lot
49, the prince
movies:
anything by wong kar wai, in the mood for love being a favorite,
the great escape, rushmore, das leben der anderen, festen, 5th
element, linda linda linda, pulp fiction, death proof, the rules of
attraction, dr. strangelove, full metal jacket
music:
stars, emily haines & the soft skeleton, metric, death cab for
cutie, broken social scene, foals, los campesinos!, crystal
castles
food:
I love tofu, inordinate amounts of tea, fresh fruit, sushi, most
asian cuisine, a good sandwich, muesli, torta veggie cubanas from
El Faro, crepes, and soy yogurt.
The six things I could never do without
(i) my laptop, (ii) books, (iii) the crossword, (iv) turtlenecks
[mostly in the fall], (v) pilot precise v5 pens, and as much as I
hate to admit my dependency on it...(vi) my cellphone.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my close friends, watching a movie, at a party,
out on the town, trying to do my reading but failing what with all
of the distractions that life can offer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I consume chocolate milk* like soup: from a big mug with a
spoon.
*I should add that it is soy milk, as I am fully realizing the
extent of my new-found intolerance to dairy
Also, I pretty much guarantee you that the list of similar users
that OkCupid proclaims are more compassionate than I, most likely
are, indeed, more compassionate than I.
