My self-summary
Me:

An English major, self-taught guitarist, artfully clumsy and sometimes just confused, girl. Oh, and my name is Penny...hence the shout out to save your pennies before the Mint decides to stop making them. I like to think I have my funny moments, often times I don't know which way to go if someone tries to give me a kiss on the cheek (this makes me oddly uncomfortable), and I spend 5 minutes every day before I leave the house using a lint brush on my clothes because I can't stop cuddling with my dogs. I'd definitely consider myself old-fashioned, but I prefer a gin and tonic. I make dumb jokes sometimes. I love the smell of fresh dryer sheets, chai tea, and sawdust. I'm also a big fan of the lighting in subway stations. Not a fan of ketchup, licorice, spiders (or any bugs), airbrushed ads, the temperature in grocery stores, and wet feet.

You:

Love making people laugh, and laughing in general. You're quirky, but not serial killer quirky. You are tall, and preferably have hair. You think llamas are hilarious, but also very rude, animals. You don't mind weekend movie binges, but you love the outdoors and it makes you feel at peace. You don't have to be at the gym every day, but you stay in shape. All in all, you are the most interesting man in the world.

Location-wise, I have lived on the Eastern Shore, Charleston, most recently Boston, and just moved back to my hometown of DC a couple of months ago.

When I was younger, I did quite a bit of international volunteering (Uganda, Peru, Barbados, India), and I think everyone should travel as much as they can to get a better sense of yourself and the world around you. Right now, I'm focused on settling down into one place, and developing my art. I'd love to meet some interesting people on here and get together for drinks!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an "artist", which means that sometimes I have paint on my hands without knowing it. Trying to get my foot in the door in the contemporary art world here in DC and currently working on big paintings of nude women. It's fun.
I’m really good at
Reading people, staring at things, and being a dog whisperer.

Creating really good dishes from what's in the kitchen. I'm not a fan of recipes, bur rather like to make it work with what I have.
The first things people usually notice about me
I be tall. I also try to smile a lot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I adore HBO's "Girls", although some people hate it. But some of my favorite movies balance it out: Apocalypto, Star Wars (I-III), the early Bond films (Octopussy is my favorite), and I love documentaries. They can be about pretty much anything. I can legitimately sit down and watch four episodes of "How It's Made" without getting bored. Storage Wars, The Office, Workaholics, The League, Shameless, Breaking Bad....
The six things I could never do without
Water, bagels, dogs, sight, family, shampoo, and a huge white canvas begging to be painted on.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What being "less pure" means according to the tests on this site. Also, why I care about that.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying new bars in the DC area
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was younger, people would tell me all the time that I should be a hand model.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 27–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
You are tall, confident, and not afraid of your funny side. Eventually, you want to own a dog/small horse exactly like the one in the new Iams commercial (Rocky - yes, I googled his name).
