My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Do men really bother reading women's profiles? But in case they do, here goes - I'll try & keep it reasonably short.
I'm English born & raised - Liverpool. Just to hit the high points - left Liverpool at 21, got a job in Frankfurt, Germany for a few years. Married, moved to Indiana, Arizona, Florida, Texas, then Maryland, and here I've been since.
I've learned to be fairly strong and independent. I always keep an open mind about people and look for what they're about on a deeper level. I really don't have a whole long "grocery list" of things that a man should have - I'm very open minded and one can be utterly surprised by the people you become attracted to when you least expect it. I've been artsy all my life and my work has afforded me the opportunity to work on some famous faces which has been great.
For me, a man doesn't have to be a George Clooney, or Superman leaping tall buildings - most important is that he has good core values, sharp intellect, and a good sense of humor is a must. Especially that he doesn't take himself too seriously. I find intelligence and great sense of humor to outweigh other facets of the person that may not be quite as appealing.
I will add, hopefully without sounding superficial - I like a man to look and act younger than his age. (unless he's 35 - haha). I get told constantly that I don't look or act my age, so therefore it's important that the man be similar. If you're say 50, and look 65 or older, and/or tend to have an attitude that is heavily influenced by negative world events and routinely watches Fox 5, or glued to ESPN on a regular basis, then it's fair to say I would not be interested.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Mostly work!! Aren't we all? Seems like there's less and less time to just fit in having fun. But aside from work, I enjoy staying fit, and generally eating healthy. I have a healthful approach to my lifestyle, so would appreciate that in someone else, but it's not a dealbreaker if they're more relaxed in their approach than I am. Also enjoy spending time with my dear friends. I belong to the DC Mini Metro group & enjoy going on the outings they have - anything Mini-related is usually good fun. Enjoy most any fun pursuit except bunji jumping :-( - so am always open to suggestions. Like all the typicalmuseum/shows/fares/movies/outings in general things to do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening to other people. Compassion for older, infirm folks. I always enjoy looking for the good in the person and making people feel better about themselves. Creative pursuits/good with my hands, home projects inside and out. Have been told I have a good mind, and very intuitive. Also, a good conversationalist (aren't most women?!).

Gosh, the list could go on and on - but some things that come to mind on series: Penny Dreadful; Masters of Sex both on SHOWTIME; and HBO's True Detective (Season 1 not 2) - GREAT series. Movies: The Enigma Machine, Once Upon A Time in America (Robert DeNiro), old movie now, but boy, that was great. Books: lots of them - Ken Follett, Pillars of the Earth, World Without End - enjoy David Baldacci, or any mystery/thriller type stories and authors. Like all kinds of music from rock to classical/opera. Food: mostly non-meat. Unfortunately I LOVE sweets, but avoid them most of the time to keep my weight in check.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My good health and strength, my good sense of logic/common sense, sense of humor, sharp intuition about people and situations, balanced approach to life, and last but not least my family and dear friends. (oops - more than 6).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my work, exercise, health, food, and what's around the corner.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There's not really a "typical" Friday night .... whatever I feel like at the time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I over-think things a lot of the time. :-(

You think you're someone like I've described above and you're looking for something meaningful and not superficial, even if it's only friendship. Don't do well with superficiality. Pics are recent. The main one with my Mini was taken August of 2013 - that's the oldest. Please have recent pics of yourself - as in the past year or so. Thanks
