I am understanding, cheeky, and affectionate.

My Self-Summary

Spending time with me is pretty much a guaranteed night of fun. I love making people laugh, and I don't mind acting like a child to do so. On the reverse side of that, I do lead a very normal adult life with a job, a house, and bills and such. So when it's time to be serious, I'm on it.

Recently I've taken some steps to branch out into a new lifestyle. I'm working on living out my dream of leaving my job and traveling around for about 3 months just to see what's out there. Some folks find that a little crazy, but I've found that those who trust in their own capabilities find it kind of refreshing. I figure since I'm not married and don't have any children, this is probably the only time in life that I'd be able to do it. Like anything in life, plans are always subject to change though. Ultimately I'd like to find someone to take the journey with me.

-Update-
I've just taken my first vacation since 2005, and now that I see what I've been missing I'm ready for more traveling adventures.

What I’m doing with my life

To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I fell into the job I have now by chance, and I'm never really quite sure if I belong there. Things as they are though, I've recently obtained my CPP, which is a 5 year payroll certification. I figure even if I'm not sure if the job is right for me, I can at least do it the best I can. I work really hard. It's a bit frustrating sometimes, but I don't know how to not work hard. Skating by was never really my thing.

I’m really good at

Backgammon. Some time when we were kids my brother and I decided we both needed one skill that wasn't necessarily useful in life.

I'm really good at a lot of things. How do you choose the thing folks want to know? I work really hard, I've got a high IQ and sorting out problems is my thing. I'm very personable, I'm always looking out for others and I can brighten anyone's day when they need it. I'm a great listener, and I'm an awesome cook. I can speak with about 30 different accents, and I have an entertaining comedy routine.

The first things people usually notice about me

Right now it's my super ridiculously long hair. I've been growing my hair out so I can donate it. The picture on my bank card has me with very short hair, and I usually have to smile for the cashier so they can see the face matches my face and I really am me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Jane Eyre is easily my favorite book ever, followed by a close second High Fidelity (which would probably be #1 if I was a guy). Of course you can't beat classic collections of Calvin and Hobbes. Music: Animal Collective, Modest Mouse, Neil Diamond (yes, seriously), The Decemberists, and Vampire Weekend. Movies: Been watching a lot of Kung Fu Movies lately. Hot Fuzz is always a favorite of mine, and the lesser known Spaced series. Anything Wes Anderson. Food: I enjoy food. I'll eat anything but sardines or anchovies (under normal non-starvation circumstances).

The six things I could never do without

music, laughter, a cool wind, a good book, dreams, and comfortable clothes

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I definitely spend a lot of time thinking about fixing up my house. I don't spend a lot of time doing it though. Mostly I didn't have time and/or money to do the things I wanted to do, but now it's more about the man power. I also spend a lot of time thinking about how many people I know who say they want to help me and then mysteriously leave town.

On a typical Friday night I am

I've been catching up on some major socializing. I couldn't really do anything for a few months while I was studying. My friends would call me up and say things like, "Hey we're going to the money factory tonight and we're going to get free money, want to come?" And I'd just sadly say, "I have to study." Now that I can get out again, I'm all over the place. The key thing about my weekends is spending time with people, but everything else is variable. Might be having a barbecue, going out of town, hanging out at a pool hall, whatever it is I'm doing it with some good friends.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have a serious fear of spiders and creepy crawlies. Watching me do yard work through a window is kind of like watching a Benny Hill montage. I run away from a spider carrying a weed eater in one direction, I drag the lawnmower behind me running from a snake back in the other direction, I come running back the first way jumping up and down with a squirrel attached to my head... good times.

You should message me if

You have an open mind, a lighthearted disposition, and you think it would be a great adventure to take off and see the world for a while.
