My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I talk to myself. I sing out loud in the car (if it's a show tune, I get rather animated)...I listen to show tunes. I think far too many thing are funny. I'm not very good with math and science, but I find them fascinating (I'm a nerd, and I'm ok with that). I love terrible Syfy movies. I spend 23 hours of my day dreading the 1 hour I spend exercising. I have a large and loud family, and it shows. I will correct your grammar if it gets to be too ridiculous. I am a fervent advocate of the Oxford comma. I have a love of sports that borders on obscene (I will see all four grand slams...eventually). I hate this part of every website. If I missed anything, feel free to ask. Cheers!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
After college, I moved back home because there is no city greater than my city. My fascination with sharks and all things oceanic have pushed me to get my dive certification. I currently work for a health insurance company. No, I don't want to hear about you hate/advocacy of the Affordable Care Act.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Speaking (I was once told I could argue my way out of a paper bag. I'm not sure what it meant, but I was assured it was a compliment.)
Recalling random facts
Making people laugh when they know they shouldn't be
Incorporating song lyrics into conversation
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sadly, the first thing people notice is my lack of height. Then they usually pick up on the facial expression I failed to hide.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books (!): goodness, so many. Brave New World, Frankenstein, Moll Flanders, anything by Jane Austin. I'm a huge fan of the classics. I'm currently reading the Flavia Dee Luce mysteries. When I started, there were three. I'm on the fourth one, and now there's eight. I'm very far behind. I recently finished Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (finally). I am now taking suggestions on what I should pick up next.

Movies: I am not the biggest movie buff, but I do love Breakfast at Tiffany's and movies that are genuinely funny or have lots of explosions (with the exception of anything done by Michael Bay. Someone tell him to stop).

Shows: I'm sure this references TV, but I'm going to go with "I love musical theater, and A Chorus Line is the greatest."

Food: I'm from New Orleans. I love all food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Many hurricanes have forced me to give the top the spots to:
Most of my family (definitely my dog)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Reasons I shouldn't have to go to the gym today
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't have a typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm on this site.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Really, you should if you want to, but major bonus points if you name an actual book in the Favorites section. Please do not message me if:
You are looking for a third party.
The only thing you have to say to me is something that you wouldn't actually say to me in person (eg:"let's cuddle." It's the internet. You can't cuddle...if you'll notice, this example is very PG. Please also take that hint).
