My self-summary Propose an edit
I am an engineer and have been working in the North Hills of
Pittsburgh since graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in this
past May. I lately have been missing the college life where it was
easy to hang out with people at almost any time of day. However, I
have been spending a lot of my free time of late just enjoying
having free time again. I also tend to be very sarcastic at times and will take
most any opportunity to make off the wall statements with obcure
references rather than responding to what the person really said. I
also have the dubious honor of having been named most likely to
answer a rheotorical question by my friends from college. I tend to
be rather quiet and reserved most of the time, which leads to me
not meeting that many people when I'm out at a bar or club by
myself.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Working at a Civil Engineering company where I am involved with
building and inspecting bridges. I'm considering both if I want to
go back to school to get a graduate degree in structural
engineering, and when that might be financially realistic. Looking
for new book series that I would like to read, as I have a tendancy
to devour books at a high rate (occasionally reading 600+ page books from cover to
cover in one sitting). I recently bought a new car and have in
general been enjoying not being a broke college student anymore.
I'm now looking for some new things to do around North Hills.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Skiing, certain
computer games (Halo,
Halflife 2, any
civilization game), I'm an ok cook, I can easily remember what
would normally fall into the category of useless trivia or things
that I will never need to know again without trying, or wanting
to.
I can also be really good missing painfully obvious things for a
long time... not that I really enjoy being good at this as it has
caused me to say something stupid or embarrasing from time to time,
but I am good at it.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
That I'm 6'4 or that I have a really sarcastic sense of
humor.
Or if I'm at a bar they may notice that I have a rather high
tolerance...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
A) Wheel
of Time Series, Sword of Truth series, most of
the Starwars books (None of this New Jedi Order crap), Orson Scott
Card's Ender books (Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide,
Children of the Mind), Dune
B) Matrix,
Star Wars, any
Indiana Jones, some of the Batman movies (minus the 2nd and 4th of
them), Lord of The Rings, Italian Job, The Rock, Equilibrium, Down Periscope,
Fight Club, Old School, Boondock Saints, Stargate, Spies Like Us, Spaceballs,
Serenity,
Anchorman,
Talladega
Nights, in general anything that has a good science fiction
story or is just absurdly funny.
C) I like a very eclectic mix of music which primarily consists of
modern/classic rock and electronica, but is not limited to just
those. Pretty much I am willing to listen to most any song at least
once and then determine if I like it, I will not reject something
just because its in a catagory I don't normally prefer. Some bands
I like: Steve Miller Band, Juno Reactor, Metallica], System of a Down,
Greenday, Bush,
Weird Al, Paul
Oakenfold, John Williams, Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Led
Zeppelin, Eminem, Bond, Nirvana, Audioslave...

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Opportunities in life that I have missed and how I should be more
assertive in pursuing new things. Occassionally there are a few
philosophical type questions that crop up... sometimes while I'm
drunk, others not.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Doing something fun with friends (watching movies, drinking,
hanging out) Or if not that I am probably at home, watching
Stargate on TV,
and playing some computer games. I vacilate between being a
complete geek at times to normal person.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I was within a foot of both the flipped car in Oakland and the riot
police at the same time after the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl.
You should message me if Propose an edit
You want to get to know someone else in da 'burgh. Or if you think
I might be someone interesting to chat with. If you are a huge
Steelers fan.
