I have decided to take the next step in my life and purchase my first house. It's nothing too big, just a condo here in Phoenixville, but it is MY place. I'm trying to meet some people in the area, and if I also happen to come across someone special, that'd be just grand.

Now for a bit about me. I'm interested in politics and current events and find it important to stay informed. I love discussing a wide variety of things, and enjoy the occasional friendly debate. That being said, I'm not really the confrontational sort when it comes to most other things. I'm generally the peaceful sort, always been a bit shy, but I really come out when I'm comfortable. I love music and movies, and enjoy exploring new films, artists, and genres. My family is important to me and I'm a dog lover. I enjoy watching sports, and going to the occasional game (big Phillies and Eagles fan!). Other than that, I'd just say in some ways I'm quite traditional, yet in other ways not so. Honesty is huge to me (I'm allergic to lying) and in general I strive to be a honorable person.

As for you, I'm essentially looking for someone cool to hang out with, and basically become friends with. If something more develops, I'd be open to that as well. Really, I'm just looking for someone intelligent, passionate, and kind who shares my basic values. If we happen to share some common interests, that'd be great. So let's chat a little, maybe meet for a drink or some coffee, and see where it goes, okay?

I work in IT, doing software development. I work with a great group of people and I really enjoy my job. And thankfully, it is relatively secure and the company is doing well.

I'm good with computers as my job would suggest. In general, I am a very analytical and logical person and I'm good at figuring things out. Other than that, people say I'm good at researching and learning, so that I can then intelligently discuss and debate things.

I seem to come off differently to different people. Most people find me to be a bit reserved or shy at first, but those who get to know me know that I can get quite silly and I love to laugh.

I love movies of almost any type. My favorite genres overall would be dramas, foreign, and good horror movies. I also like comedies, sci-fi and fantasy, and a few others. It really depends on the mood... sometimes you want a 3-hour drama, other times a 90-minute comedy, yet other times a good scary movie. And who knows, maybe something animated?

I'm not a big book reader but when I do it is almost always non-fiction about history, politics, or culture. I regularly read op-eds and columns in a number of different sources, trying to draw from across the spectrum. I also can be found hanging out at blogs and other Internet forums.

As for music, my taste is eclectic and always growing. I generally like most country music, though I find a lot of the current stuff too "poppy" for my tastes. I also enjoy alternative, indie, folk, and sometimes classical. I'm always looking for something new and interesting. Right now that seems to be bluegrass, folk, and older country. It's always evolving! It just never includes rap or pop... ever.

I spend a lot of time thinking about what's going on in the world. I also think a lot about life, my career and ambitions, and how to improve myself and help others. Finally, I think about what I can do to improve my new condo!

I usually am watching a movie or doing something else relaxing. Friday nights are generally fairly low-key for me - I prefer to do things on Saturdays since on Friday I am tired from the work week.

I'm not interested in playing mind games, and I tend to favor honesty, even when it's hard. I'm not afraid to admit that I love a good love story, and somehow still believe I might be part of one. But that aside, I'm clear-minded about life and try to deal with things rationally.

First of all, if you are in the area and you're looking for someone to do stuff with, you should definitely contact me. I love playing games, watching movies, listening to music, and discussing various issues.

As for dating, I'm looking for someone who shares my basic values and enjoys the greatness of a good conversation. I would also like someone who enjoys staying relatively informed about things, and who has an interest in learning about, and being involved in, the world around them. That's the basics I suppose.
