My self-summary Propose an edit

Why are we all doing this? Let me guess. Oh, it's to take the personality tests, cause they're so informative! And it's to find new platonic friends, or pen-pals from other countries... of course it's not to actually date anyone, that would involve far too much awkwardness and emotional vulnerablility. Let's all hide behind our poker faces and compare each other on an X/Y axis. Have you tried the Compare Profiles button? I recommend it, it's very interesting.

I'm a pseudo-intellectual smart person without the patience to have gotten the high credentials. I am a musician obsessed with sounds and songs and a former computer geek. I am pretty into politics -- I kinda don't know how anyone could NOT be these days. So I enjoy discussing and debating that kind of stuff. I also love nature. I moved to Oregon three years ago (from Phoenix) and it's the first place I've lived where I actually feel like I can breathe. I love driving across the bridges downtown and seeing the city from different angles. I love all the trees and parks, and friendly weird people. Just seem to be missing that one person to share it with.

Here's some more stuff I like:
- Corduroy
- Being surrounded by plants
- Tie-dye
- Homemade musical instruments
- Interesting WORDS
- Horrible puns
- Purple
- Girls who are SMART
- Dry sense of humor. Very dry.

Some people don't really get me at first, because I have a "little bit" of a shell I have to use to deal with the world sometimes. But in truth I care about people a lot. At least those special ones that really seem worth it. Maybe that's you, dear reader.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm working and going to school, and working on my music projects! No, I do not have a glamorous job, but I like it, and it pays the bills, and lets me play music. That is important. So I'm pretty happy with all those logistical things. It's all pretty stable, and then I rampage crazily atop this base of stability, by being a crazy bad boy who only you might have the power to change.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Music, at least I like to think so. I've been in a series of bands and I really love writing and playing songs for people. I also like going to see other people play music! Alternatively, we can listen to music that's already been recorded -- it can be played back through speakers! You better really like music, in other words. Outside of that, I like exploring the city and nature, meeting interesting people, and trying to be interesting myself. I'm good at listening, and saying what I'm feeling... even when I shouldn't. Occasionally, I am even good at keeping up with my various world-responsibilities.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

Their first impression is usually wrong. The world-shell thing. I have a spiky one. Usually people can't figure out what I'm thinking at first. But get past that, and there's lots of creamy goodness.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books: Taking a break from the endless sci-fi/fantasy novels of my youth, but I'll read anything about music or art. I like Neal Stephenson and Douglas Adams. I adore Dave Eggers. Favorite book ever is House of Leaves. Right now I'm reading a lot of Hunter S. Thompson, super entertaining.

Music: The Books, XTC, The Eels, They Might Be Giants, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Soul Coughing, Animal Collective, Band of Horses, Porcupine Tree, Sigur Ros, The Beatles, and many others

Movies: The Princess Bride, Rushmore, Spinal Tap, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream, Waiting for Guffman

TV: The Simpsons and its assorted unworthy plagiarists, Red Eye, Breaking Bad, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Mr. Show with Bob & David, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Conan O'Brien, Kids in the Hall, Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development, Mr. Bean, Dr. Katz, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job!

Food: Anything spicy and ethnic. Indian and Thai are my favorites. If it's not spicy enough it will get the magical garlic rooster sauce on top. I do eat meat but I like vegan/vegetarian food too. I also drink way too much coffee.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

1. Musical instruments. Especially bouzouki. Do you know what a bouzouki is? If not, I'll be happy to rant at length about what they are and why they are pure awesome sauce.

2. My few and close friends. Music and friends are the reason I'm still alive.

3. Trees, trees, and more trees.

4. Cats of a friendly, fat, and furry nature. You don't know love until you've hugged a 31-pound cat.

5. Delicious foods. Oh, and the unnecessary pluralizings of words.

6. We'll discuss this one later... intriguing!

You should message me if Propose an edit

You're honest and good. And awesome. Think love is good and something you might want sometime. Aren't afraid or hung up on the past. Like cats and music. That's not so much to ask, is it?

Just don't write me if you sold your soul to the devil. I'll never turn to the dark side.
