I am composing music, drawing comics, and having too much fun!.
My Self-Summary
To be honest I have a lot of trouble writing something to summarize
myself when there are a bunch of fields below here that will
reference the individual facets of my life. However I understand
that this is the part of the profile that will really "hook" some
body in to read more of my profile. Unfortunately I'm not a writer
and I have trouble expanding upon anything past what I am directly
asked. That being said I'd like to sum up with a single sentence to
describe me:
I am an engagingly affable young guy who thinks about music all the
time and could talk about
Star Trek to any body until the earth
ended.
I suppose that wasn't as hard as I anticipated, really just the
character count minimum made it daunting.
What I’m doing with my life
I work at a large corporation managing a team of consultants
implementing various technology related solutions to remote and
local sites. My career fits well within the spectrum of things I
thought I'd be doing when I was a kid but as I grow older I realize
I'm better at writing music than working with computers and I
intend to go back to school for
music composition.
I’m really good at
Well, I could argue that I'm pretty good at drawing comics since I
was a guest of honor at a few conventions for my
webcomic, but really I think my
true calling is
music. I spend a lot of time
writing music,
critiquing
music, and thinking about music in general. That being said,
I'm also a pretty decent actor. I did a few films back in the day
and a number of plays.
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure, never asked them.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: HitchHiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Prey, Maison Iokoku,
Rising Stars of Manga, Superman, 52, Dark Tower, The High
Window
Movies: The Matrix, Akira, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,
Labyrinth, Mirror Mask, Coraline, Corpse Bride, Princess Bride,
Spaceballs, Aladin, Little Mermaid, Sword in the Stone, Batman,
Kill Bill, The Rear Window
Music: The Beatles, The Who, Nine Inch Nails, Stravinsky, John
Williams, Elliot Goldenthaal, Philip Glass, Tangerine Dream,
Kraftwerk, Wendy Carlos
Food: Home cooked delicious meals. I like Irish cuisine, pizza, a
good sandwich, Mandarin
The six things I could never do without
1)The ability to make and listen to music would be first and
foremost. I remember a time where I went roughly 3 months without
any way to work on music. The DTs were terrible!
2)My friends and family. Personal connections are important to me
and keep me sane. Of course, I like seeing my friends more often
than my parents, but I can't go too long without saying at least
"hi" to them.
3)
Comic books.
Art and literature packed into a tiny and convenient package. It's
a story telling medium that I feel is overlooked far too
often.
4)Drawing implements. Often times I see stuff that I must draw. A
compulsion to draw, almost unhealthy at times (like driving) that
would make living without art impossible.
5)My awesome chair. It's a pretty freaking rad chair.
6)A good
root
beer. I'm a bit of a root beer fan and I ran out of things I
need. I'm not really materialistic, as long as I have some one to
have a conversation with I can pretty much fake the rest of it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The importance of music on today's world. How to make my music
sound exactly how what ever I'm listening to sounds. Concepts for
new music.
Star Trek The Next
Generation. What new record I am going to buy.
I'm kind of one tracked in what I think about. I just enjoy music
so much it rather has taken over my life. I guess when you just
hear music in your head all the time it would be kind of hard to
avoid it. Often times I catch myself rewriting soundtracks for
films in my head or even writing sound tracks for my life. Makes
things interesting, but I would like to get the
TRON sound track out of my head.
On a typical Friday night I am
Writing music, seeing a
movie with friends, playing
video games with
friends, drinking with friends. Really it's either gonna be music
or having a good time with friends. I suppose I'm not really a "go
out and do some thing every weekend" kind of guy. I find myself
writing music or watching a good film most Fridays but that's
because that's what I enjoy doing. A lot of weekend's I will have
my friends over and we'll have a party or play table top games or
just sometimes drink and watch a good film. Really, it's dependent
on what my schedule is allowing me time for and what mood I am in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I can't think of anything private I would say in public.
You should message me if
You like music and the composition of music, totally rad
video games, movies,
or totally cool guys with excellent hair.
