My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a writer/blogger, into cocktails/liquor, food, fiction, history, and riding my Harley - well, until I sold it, but will again when I get a new one. Oh, and I do a lot of other stuff, including a day job. I'm looking for someone who wants to be a part of my life, and have me as a part of theirs.

I work out 5-6 times a week and love cooking.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I write for my blog and the LLC we put together for it. I work for a government contractor. I write fiction, I work out, I travel, but mostly, I'm looking for someone to join in. I'm very happy with my life now, but it'd be a lot more fun to have someone to share it.

I've also taken control of my health into my own hands and work hard on making it better all the time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing. I write a lot, even if it's not all for the blog (which I need to update more often) or for work (which can really drain the creativity but can also be fun). I love to write. I don't even mind being edited - I think it makes my writing better - and I love to have people give me feedback on my writing. I just found an editor who might work out, so I'm trying to knock out the pre-reqs to see if she'll take a novel for me.

Reading (uhhhh). I read a minimum of 2-3 novels a week. I almost always have my Kindle on me (or a paperback).

Cooking. Lately it's been more grilling, but I'm getting back into it and it's so much fun.

Drinking good (and bad) stuff, smoking the occasional cigar and then writing about it. Well, I could just say "drinking" but that might give the wrong impression. Still, my blog is about booze and sometimes about cigars, so, yeah.

My job. I love my job and my company and I'm good at it! I'm hoping it'll put me in a more managerial role soon.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Okay, I'd say usually my sense of humor. Or just what I look like, isn't that what people notice first? It's hard for me to say "they look at this first" because I don't know what people look at first. I can guess?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

If I listed all my books, you'd be here all day - my shelves are crammed with books, and I love my Kindle. Most of them are sci-fi, but I have a lot of technical, history, cooking, and cocktail books. I'm trying to branch out more in more in my reading, but reading is kind of my "comfort food" and I love having something fun to read.

I love bad action movies. I tend towards action movies in general, though I have all kinds - Amelie is a favorite because it's just so fun. I don't really care for horror movies (though I do not consider most zombie movies horror).

I listen to all kinds of music - from GWAR to classical to modern pop. My music will jump from heavy metal to Ke$ha and Lady Gaga to classical to rap.

I don't watch a ton of TV since I had to cancel cable (stupid Comcast sucks), but mostly I watch cartoons, sports, and Discovery/Nat Geo/Travel/etc. Bizarre Foods, No Reservations, Sons of Guns, Mythbusters, ), Futurama, South Park, Ugly Americans, the NFL (go Steelers!), various reality shows set either in swamps or Alaska or in restaurants (much to the dismay of my friends who work in restaurants)...I finally got an HBO Go account, so I've been hooked on GoT.

I love both good and "good" bad food. I eat fast food (probably too often) but I also love really good food. I want to be willing to try anything at least once. I am dying for the day I can have my own pig roast, and have dibs on various parts of the head.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good drinks - beer ranging from Miller Lite & High Life to Rodenbach Grand Cru and Bell's. Liquor from single barrel whiskeys to Fernet Branca to Del Maguey mezcals to Jeppson's Malort.

My favorite books - gotta have reading materials. Neal Stephenson, Ian M. Banks, John Scalzi, so many more...

Decent cigars - Padrons, La Gloria Cubana, CAO, Rocky Patel

Internet access - I don't care to talk on the phone much but MUST BE ONLINE GAHHHHHHH

Travel - sometimes I just need to drive or ride. Maybe just around the Beltway, maybe to another state...just get out and go somewhere.

My friends - I like to be alone sometimes, but I need other people to keep me grounded.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My life in the future. Things are going very well for me - what can I do to keep that going? Or to make it go even better?

What book(s) I should write. I have lots of ideas, what should I pursue?

How to make my friends happier. Honestly, the happier my friends are, the happier I am.

What makes that noise from ART buses that makes them sound like they're a Transformer?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Lately it's been working out, then making a big dinner and watching TV. EXCITING, I KNOW. Though occasionally it's hitting up a bar right at 5 o'clock...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no filter - I'll talk about anything, so really, there's not a whole lot of "private things" for me.

You're looking for something serious, not a one night stand. I am not against one night stands, but at the minimum I want our mutual goals to be in check for what we're looking for in a relationship.
