My Self-Summary
I was born and raised in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. I graduated college from a state environmental school located in Syracuse with my degree in environmental and forest biology so, hence, I have a great fondness and appreciation for nature and wildlife.
In February of 2001, I moved out to Seattle. I didn't move for a job or anything like that. I simply moved because I didn't want to be in New York any longer and Seattle just happened to be the furthest place from where I was at without having to leave the continent. I'm glad I did it and don't regret any of my experiences.
In March of 2007, I moved to New Jersey, where I'm currently residing, and I brought with me the one thing I couldn't leave in Seattle, my dog Brodie.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
Recycling...I believe that we are all stewards of the Earth and should do our part. If everyone chipped in and got on board, the world might just be a better place in my opinion.
Planning...I was never a boy scout but their motto, "Be Prepared", is the closest thing I have to a mantra.
Anything that has to do with nature, wildlife or outdoor activities. Whether it be tackling the Delaware River in a raft/canoe, hiking on trails, fishing for salmon or live-trapping deer, I'm your guy. Just give me a map, compass and swiss army knife, and I'll be just fine.
Getting animals to like me. Domestic or wild, they just seem to naturally gravitate my way.
Sports. This is a huge interest of mine but I'm not fanatical. I hate the business side of sports and am fully aware that professional athletes are overpaid, whining brats. I'm a purist. I love the game for the game, the competition and the comradarie. I play in an amateur baseball league. Hardball not softball. I play real baseball and I'm good yet humble. The team I play on just won the spring championship. I am very athletic and active and sports is just something that I've always been naturally good at.
Eating right, taking good overall care of myself and living a happy, healthy lifestyle.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies...I like all genres, except maybe horror movies. I will say this for the record...Netflix and Hulu are the greatest inventions EVER! Last night, I watched Full Metal Jacket. The night before, Labyrinth. Tonight, I'll be watching The Forgotten, Flash Forward and Modern Family. There's a little glimpse for you.
Movie Update: I just saw "The Invention of Lying" last night. Two thumbs down, in my opinion. It wasn't what I thought it would be based on the trailers.
Music...Classic Rock and Roll!!! That's all I'm going to say about that.
Food...I'm not picky. In fact, moms like having me over because I eat what's put in front of me and I always clear my plate. I'm an ego-booster for cooks.
The six things I could never do without
2. Ice Cream
3. My Laptop
4. High Speed Internet
5. My Dog, Brodie.
6. Sex - Seriously people, shouldn't this be on everyone's list!?!?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Ok this statement is not my admission. This is a line in a very bad movie and the fact that I've seen a movie this stupid is the most private thing I'm willing to admit. Infinite amounts of bonus points if you can name the movie.
You should message me if
Seriously though, contact me if you liked my profile, feel we have things in common and, at the very least, want to make a new friend.
