My self-summary
I'm a thoughtful, kind person, but I have a sarcastic and cynical streak. I like learning, about really anything.

I'm a feminist. I spend an inordinate amount of time planning where I'm going to find delicious coffee.

My full name is an anagram of 'airbase bandits'. Hence my lifelong ambition to be a pirate of the sky.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in digital comms for a mental health charity, which means that I tweet and post on Facebook and do web stuff for a living. I'm not sure the tech life is for me, but I love my job, and campaigning on mental health is something I really care about.

When I'm not working, I'm wandering around London trying to find museum exhibits, good food and good coffee. I dabble in a bit of drawing and creative writing, I play basketball once a week and I just joined a local community choir in Peckham. Addicted to those harmonies.
I’m really good at
Anagrams. Staying cool under pressure. Running very slowly over longish distances. Navigating new places. Listening. Picking up on small details. Making snarky jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's really easy to make me laugh. And I have big blue eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Bonfire of the Vanities, One Hundred Years of Solitude, anything by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Circle. Currently reading The Hare with the Amber Eyes.

Brick, 50/50, 500 Days of Summer, LA Confidential, Zodiac, Say Anything, Lost in Translation, The Departed, Before Sunset, Boyhood, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Lisa Hannigan, Jurassic 5, Iron and Wine, Hozier, Phox, Ages and Ages, Typhoon, St Paul and the Broken Bones.

The West Wing (really anything made by Aaron Sorkin), 30 Rock, Community, The Wire, Parks and Recreation, Louie, The Colbert Report and the Daily Show. Currently watching Master of None on Netflix and it's dope. I just discovered Planet Earth, and I don't know why I haven't watched it this whole time.

I couldn't live without podcasts, which sustain me during my commute. So I owe a debt of gratitude to Serial, This American Life, Grantland, Nerdist and Comedy Bang Bang.
The six things I could never do without
1. Talking about my feelings
2. The New Yorker
3. The search for the next independent coffee shop and the beautiful barista therein.
4. The company of good friends.
5. Basketball. Sometimes to play, but usually to watch.
6. Podcasts.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People - what motivates them, how they think, what influences them.

Where I'm going to get my next cup of coffee.

What makes people get so worked up about professional sports teams.

Things that happen to me that I should write short stories about. Then I think about the fact that I have never written a short story.

Are there really that many dicks that message the women of OKCupid with text speak and sexual propositions? Where are all these guys, and what do they do all day?
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with a small group of good friends, in or out. I prefer this to big group interactions - I'm at my happiest when catching up with the people I really appreciate.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was 14 I was the drummer in the worst band ever. The first (and only) song we learned to play was Butterfly by Crazytown.

I fucking love the movie Pitch Perfect.

I own and sometimes wear a real set of pyjamas. If that isn't seductive, I just don't know what is.
You should message me if
Message me first. Go on. It's a really attractive quality.

You want to go in search of awesome food, get coffee, or just generally hang out.

You also watch too much TV.

Or if you want podcast recommendations.
