My Self-Summary

I am interested in meeting someone that I have some things in common with although I don't think an identical twin would work. I would love a partner that challenges me to reach my highest potential as I challenge her. She is aware of both her assets and her liabilities and able to accept mine as I accept hers. We can laugh at each as easily as we laugh at ourselves.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently I am teaching kayaking], building kayaks and designing] products for the outdoor industry. I also represent three different companies both here and in the UK. This keeps me on the go both here and in Europe. Of course, this also allows me to set my own schedule to include time for [paddling], bike riding and hanging out with friends. I am currently in the process of applying for two patents of of innovations that I have developed. Very interesting process of how creativity runs into Bureaucracy. It takes 2-3 years for an new idea to become approved by examiners.

I’m really good at

I used to be good at a lot of things and I can still keep up with the younger ones at some things. In my time I have been reasonably competent at sewing, playing drums, motorcycling, skiing. I still have a sense of curiosity about many things although I don't take foolish risks as often. I am also good at seeing the funny side of just about any issue.
I spent 15 years building houses and cabinets and still enjoy working with wood. Currently I have revived my love of woodworking by building Greenland style kayak paddles with Western Red Cedar.

The first things people usually notice about me

I am not sure, but alot of times I remind people of someone so I must have that generic look about me. I have had people actually swear that I was related to one of their friends.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read all kinds of things, but rarely reread fiction so I can't think of any favorites at the moment although I am a big Bill Bryson fan.
Some of my favorite movies include " My Cousin Vinny", "American Pie", "Best in Show", "This is Spinal Tap" etc... and my favorite genre has got to be comedy first and Sci Fi/futuristic second. I am not big on Cops and robber movies although I have enjoyed just about everything Clint Eastwood has done.
I was a big Led Zepplin fan and still get shivers hearing Jon Bonham doing "Moby Dick". Right now I think Hip Hop is the only real thing happening in music and "new country" is even more simplistic and boring than "old country".

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Different ways to look at things. The rate at which the earth is being trashed by human behavior. The suffering that Religion has caused and continues to cause to humans. The amount of potential that each person possesses. The unending suprizes that the natural world has created.

On a typical Friday night I am

Getting ready for the weekend or recovering from the week.
