My self-summary
First of all, let me apologise sincerely for sucking at replying to messages. I use this site in spurts, so sometimes a month or two pass and I forget to check it. I *do* reply eventually, though, and it often saddens me when I see that someone I've messaged or someone who messaged me has already deleted their profile.

With that out of the way, how about a list of pet loves and hates? Everybody loves lists, right? :)

I love...
Sleeping in after staying up until 6am.
Dance-offs.
Making or receiving mix CDs.
Quirky humour.
Hiking (or a walk through the Botanic Gardens when I've got less time).
Winter.
Rainy, stormy nights.
Modelling clay.
The beach.
Laid-back bars and lounges.
Being chatty with people who work in menial jobs to make their day more interesting.
Sitting back and watching other people interact.
Hugs.
Daydreaming.
Nintendo in all their forms.
Cooking for/with friends.
Boxing Day. I do a video night with friends on Boxing Day every year.
Night hikes.
Fashion photography. (I actually have a Tumblr devoted to this; username is 'inthemodeforlove', in case you're interested).
Putting on clothes that have just come out of the drier.
Chip butty.
Desert boots.
Bed.
Making out for hours and hours.
Unusual words.

I cannot stand...
Txt msg lang.
People calling conversations "Deep and Meaningfuls" or "D&Ms".
Those people who push the button at pedestrian crossings when it's freakin' obvious someone else already has.
Early morning starts.
Hospitals.
Superfluous flavour variations on existing products. Tamarind flavoured Pepsi Samba, anyone?
Excessive cynicism.
Cab drivers who slow down as they drive past me when I'm out for a walk.
Going to clubs for anything other than dancing.
Clothing with brand names in obvious places.
Overcensorship.
Commercials that masquerade as public service announcements, a là Brand Power - helping you buy better.
Fast food.
Rude receptionists, bouncers, bus drivers and librarians.
Being called 'babe', 'sweetie', 'hun' or any other similarly insincere word by people I'm not especially close to.
Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and all the other bland celebs who were grown out of that same vat.
What I’m doing with my life
Figuring it out, and playing a lot of video games in the process. :D
I’m really good at
Hugs. I get around.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As far as books go, I've always ended up reading stuff for uni, so I can't really say much.

Movies? There are tons, but off the top of my head I love Pleasantville, Heathers, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Pan's Labyrinth, Blue Valentine, Let The Right One In, Downfall, The Door in the Floor, American Psycho, I'm Not Scared, Hard Candy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Mean Girls.

Music... there's an obscenely large list I could write here, but I'll keep it short and go with some current favourites: Sun Kil Moon, Milosh, London Grammar, Télépopmusik, Björk, the scores of Alexandre Desplat, Bonobo, Saint Etienne, Blonde Redhead, Emiliana Torrini, Goldfrapp, Simian Mobile Disco, Röyksopp, Betty Ford Boys, Bent, Air, Preston School of Industry, Cibo Matto and Kelis (but only when Nas was not one of her producers).

Food-wise, I'm a big fan of chocolate: milk or dark, but white chocolate is just unnatural. Also love wood-oven pizza, thai food, sushi, vanilla yoghurt, scones, pineapple, or a good curry or satay. Oh, and chip butty. Chip butty rocks my socks.

TV shows? I completely adore Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23, The X-Files, Arrested Development, Weeds, Parks and Recreation, Daria, RuPaul's Drag Race, America's Next Top Model, Better Off Ted and Grosse Pointe.

Oooh, and anime! Saikano, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Paranoia Agent, Someday's Dreamers, Chobits, Genshiken, Usagi Drop, Samurai Champloo, Read or Dream, Haibane Renmei, Nodame Cantabile, Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, So Long, Mr. Despair, Death Note, Kamichu, Boogiepop Phantom, Natsume Yuujinchou.

I was also quite serious about the fashion photography thing. don't read a lot but I do love devouring a good magazine - faves are Numéro and Numéro Homme, Hercules Universal, Vogue Italia, Dansk, Tush Magazine and Antidote. In terms of photographers, I'm a big fan of Miles Aldridge, Camilla Akrans, Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Tim Walker, Steven Meisel, Sølve Sundsbø and Richard Avedon.
The six things I could never do without
My bed, music, friends, love in its many forms, good food, great sex.

Almost everything else is replaceable. Including most of my family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about why I end up with so much powdery stuff at the bottom of a bag of honey-roasted cashews.

I think about what celebrities are doing right now... like do you think Halle Berry might be getting around to buying that cheese grater she's been needing for weeks? Is Peter Jackson sitting in his car, caught in the middle of rush hour? Is Liv Tyler hunched in front of her bathroom mirror, trimming her nose hairs? (Seriously, have you seen the nasal coiffure on that woman? Insane).

I think about why people like George Bush ever got elected into power. Then I assume the foetal position.

I also think about rearranging people's names. You know, anagrams. Like George Bush = Bugger Hoes.

I think about the gorgeous men in the world, most of whom I'd like to shag but who also strike me as very interesting men. I actually have a top five (oh come on, like you don't have one, too): Bruno Santos, Gaspard Ulliel, Paul Boche, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Stuart Townsend.

I think about sex, hot chips, how comfortable this hoodie is, whether I should bother getting a new phone since this one's starting to look older than Anna Nicole Smith's dating circle, and what I can do to combat climate change. Oh, and I think about whether I should say 'climate change' or 'global warming'. I'm guessing it doesn't matter.

I also think about whether I should remove that reference to Anna Nicole Smith now that she's dead.

I think about whether there's something useful we can do with bland pop-stars and wannabe celebrities. A friend and I were discussing whether we could mulch them into fertiliser, and how we might market such a thing. The best ones we came up with were Liquid Grow Lohan and Pasture of Paris.

I later thought of another one: The Green Miley.
On a typical Friday night I am
Staying in, playing video games. Or getting lucky. Or out with friends, eating good food or getting gelati or something like that. Seeing a movie, maybe, or going for a walk, or writing, or faffing about on the Internet.

Or any combination of these things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've taken to painting my toenails for some reason. Right now they're bright green. I used to paint one black. That was the evil toe.

I'm just kidding. I don't have an evil toe. That's crazy talk.

All of my toes are evil.
