I am Confident, Educated, and ISTP.
My Self-Summary
ISTP-
Tolerant and flexible, quiet observers until a problem appears,
then act quickly to find workable solutions. Analyze what makes
things work and readily get through large amounts of data to
isolate the core of practical problems. Interested in cause and
effect, organize facts using logical principles, value
efficiency.
ISTPs use their Thinking primarily internally to see the essential
structure underlying the facts. Their minds seem to work almost
like computers, organizing data, reasoning impersonally and
objectively. They make rational decisions based on a great deal of
concrete data.
ISTPs are egalitarian and generally tolerant of a wide range of
behavior until their ruling logical principles are attacked. At
that point, they can surprise others by expressing their firm and
clear judgments. ISTPs listen and seem to agree because they are
not disagreeing; later, others may find the ISTP was analyzing and
making internal judgments.
With their constant scanning for information and focus on results,
ISTPs will change course readily if they see another, more
efficient way. Because of this, others some- times have trouble
"reading" them. They tend to be quiet and reserved, though they can
be quite talkative in areas in which they have a lot of knowledge.
What I’m doing with my life
Still trying to figure out how to make improvements.
I’m really good at
... most things. I am not really great at any one thing, but in
general I am either good at what I am doing or quick to learn,
whether it is a sport a skill or a class subject.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite book right now is The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt
Kid by Bill Bryson. Most of the books I read are educational,
history or PSC based. Really liked, A Walk in the Woods; Bill
Bryson, Going After Cacciato and The Things they Carried, Tim
O’Brien, The World is Flat, Thomas Friedman.
I am a big fan of movies. It is probably my main vice as far as
un-needed expenses go. I have around 300 DVDs.
I would have to say; 28 days later, because you have to have at
least one good horror / zombie flick make the top of the list.
Southland Tales, because it was the first movie that was so
confusing that I ended up watching it 5 times and reading the book
before I really understood the plot. Letters from Iwo Jima, that
takes care of my history/ military requirement. Tombstone, because
every boy wants to be a cowboy when he grows up and Tombstone
slightly edges Wyatt Earp. Sweeny Todd. It’s a classic musical play
with blood and violence and stars Johnny Depp, what more could you
ask for in a movie?
Some others that could have just as easily made the list, The
Boondock Saints, The Departed, Life, Momento, Reservoir Dogs,
Shawshank Redemption, Shaun of the Dead, Sin City
The six things I could never do without
Blackberry, Computer, Books, Movies, a brain and comfortable
clothing and of course all the other stuff you are supposed to list
here... life, liberty and the pursuit etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Unfortunately at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
a quote from an ex-girlfriend "You are great and there is
absolutely nothing your not good at, your only problem is you know
this."
