My Self-Summary
I recently moved to the Twin Cities to start a new position as a faculty member in a doctoral graduate program in clinical psychology and part-time in private practice.
What I’m doing with my life
Now I have left that work and have gone into teaching. There is something special about being able to inspire students in the classroom and to give to the next generation which I find very rewarding at this point in my life. I'll also maintain a part-time private practice.
Photography, especially nature and landscape photography is a long-time hobby of mine since childhood. I love to take roadtrip on backroads, soak in the scenery and find new intereseting off-the beaten path kind of places to check out. I also enjoy film, music - especially live performance. I'm starting to get involved in video production as a hobby now.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Right now I'm re-reading Foucault's "History of Madness", Lacan (yes ... I do actually get it), Andre Green, Freud, The Snow Leopard, Blue Highways, Zen Mind-Beginners Mind, Team of Rivals (about Abraham Lincoln).
Movies: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Il Postino, Like Water to Chocolate, Braveheart, etc.
Music: Muddy, Clapton, Pinetop Perkins, Big Walter Horton, Freddy
King, Aimee Mann, Sarah McLachlan, Joan Osborn, bebop and swing
jazz, some classical, various rock.
Foods: Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Caring,
Love,
Wisdom,
Committment,
Patience
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The way for everyone to come together so we can improve make a difference for the better.
Warmer weather!
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
