My Self-Summary
Case in point: When I was in college I started out wanting to build motorcycles studying physics engineering, decided that was not going to work out. Became an economist, lived in DC for a couple years, working on the Hill. Decided DC was definitely not for me and then ended up working on photo software out here in SF. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love trying to extract every possible ounce of life there is from my day. That means getting up early and staying out late. I think Hunter Thomson said it best:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!'
Sleep when your dead, although it nice to get a bit more sleep on the weekends. ;-)
What I’m doing with my life
These days I think its all about doing the things you have always wanted to and actually accomplishing them. This includes most verbs with -ing suffixs: Riding Motorcycles(what other hobby makes you feel like a superhero on the weekend?), Surfing, Reading, Snowboarding, Drinking, Running, Dancing (slightly advanced white man shuffle), Rock Climbing, Movie Watching, Strategerizing, some other -ing activity I can't remember here.
My buddies and I got a cabin for the winter in Tahoe so I am hoping to get some massive winter sports time in. Should be epic!
I am on a total health bender these days as well. I have going to the gym at 6:30 before work and then if things pan out, I try to run GG Park in the evening. Seriously, I don't think Batman has anything on my routine these days! Just training up for next race season. Weekends I try to take off and enjoy the nightlife.
Like every other tech dork in the Bay Area, I am also working on my own startup, lots-o-works when I have time.
I’m really good at
-riding motorcycles, well I like to think I am good at that...
-listening to peeps
-photography, I know more than is really rational about photography or namely digital photography. But then its part of my job...
-drinking beer
-making people laugh, see attached Halloween picture for example.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Outliers, 1776 (OMG sooo good), Cryptonomicon, Snow Crash, The Scarlet Letter, Zen and a the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Wealth and Poverty of Nations, Freakinomics, When Engulfed in Flames. David Sedaris is amazing. I really recommend his audio books. I have a soft spot for history books, Neal Stephenson's epicly long Sci-Fi and Malcolm Gladwell.
Movies: Bladerunner, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Eagle vs. Shark, Team America World Police(i know, I am 15y/o mentally), 28 Days Later, The Very Long Engagement, Match Point, Amelie (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, everyone of his films are gold!), Everything is Illuminated, I am Legend, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limited (Wes Anderson films = Win), Zombieland, Donnie Darko,
I have penchant for Zombie films and no particular idea why, because I hate horror films, or atleast squeamish when I watch them.
Music: Wilco, Fiona Apple, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Of Montreal, Joy Division, Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens, The Shins, Jurassic 5, Beta Band, Cardigans, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, The Strokes, Aimee Mann, Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend
Radio/Podcasts: This American Life (ZOMG, don't know how I lived without it), Fresh Air, NPR,
Please send some suggestions...
Food: I am largely a vegetarian/pescatarian. I <3 Thai, Indian, Mexican, Italian and those amazing veggie sandwiches at the Love n' Haight Deli. Last but certainly not least Sushi, I love sushi, when done right it can be a euphoric experience. Tell me your favorite place I will tell you mine :-). I am also looking for a Malay/Singaporean soup called Curry Laksa in SF. I had in DC and have been missing it ever since.
The six things I could never do without
-Coffee, enough said
-Apple stuff, I loves, loves my iPhone!
-Spicy food
-Reliable friends
-Oxygen, water, sunshine, kind of a de facto setting
I spend a lot of time thinking about

Making the world a more fun place.
On a typical Friday night I am
Dancing, but alot of my friends aren't so into that. I guess thats what happens when you know alot tech dorks. Take me with you!
Sometimes I am down to be in with a movie, especially if the week is long.
