Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Damn if everything isn’t so interesting. If you told someone in the
1950s we’d have flying cars by now they’d believe you but if you
told them about smart phones, that you’d have a device that not
only lets you talk to anyone almost anywhere but also gives you
access to the combined whole of human knowledge, Mr 1950 would say
your full of it.
There are so many interesting places to go, so many different ways
of living, It’s crazy how different even close places can be, Spain
and England are less than 1000 miles apart but contrast
It helps that the people are interesting. If you think about it
everyone has a story, from the Baber who’s lived a long hard life
to the young guy selling stuff on the street they all have a story
Then there’s the huge number of things to do, going on a walk in
the forest, reading a book, playing a game with friends, hell
watching Netflix. Being bored really just not a thing that should
Anyways to cut a long ramble short things are awesome. I’m not
saying that they couldn’t be better, but then I guess that’s what
people are working to do, at least I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At the moment I'm working on a masters in computing science at the
University of Alberta. My thesis is on a Machine Learning (a branch
of AI) program to help the detection of breast cancer in
mammograms. Also I guess I can claim in a loose way that I'm an
author, as I've tricked perfectly respectable publications into
printing my work.
Otherwise I have a bunch of side projects going on mostly
consisting of interesting problems and half baked startups.
Oh yeah, I'm also getting into yoga.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm going to guess my beard and height. I'm tall and beardy.

Well, on the books front I find I'll read most anything if it makes
me think or roll on the ground laughing, such as A Problem From
Hell, a book about genocide; The Flashman series which is about the
worst British officer in the world; The Dark Tower
, a dark fantasy
novel; and War, a book about the evolutionary origins of human
Film and TV also follow a similar theme. I like silly fun like
American Dad or Adventure Time while also enjoying dystopian
science fiction, like Children of Men
or the Hunger Games
Games are also on the table, both board and the kind that cause
people on the internet to insult me.
My taste in music spans trance, metal, a small amount of rap, and
pretty much anything with good guitar work or a driving beat.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My Guitar
- Netflix.... who needs TV
- Some kind of connection... you know, for Netflix
- My Friends
- A project on the run
- My Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the universe, everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with some of my friends at a pub, at a live show of some kind,
working on one of my projects, or enjoying the sun on a deck.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have dual Canadian and UK Citizenship.
