I am quirky, domestic, and sweet.

My Self-Summary

I'm a stickler for grammar, although I've probably made some mistakes in here. I love tea. I spend more time reading than watching television, but there are some shows that I'd rather not miss. I'm a fan of Discovery and the History channel. I have a degree in anthropology and I absolutely love talking about anything related to evolution or artifacts or Papua New Guinea or. . .well, you get the idea. I'll talk your ear off.

Some weekends you'll have to drag me away from my sewing machine. My major hobby is costuming, and I'm in full-swing now that it's almost Halloween. I'm making two, and since I've procrastinated until the absolute last minute, neither is done. I have started on both, though! I'm sure I'll still be working on Halloween, but I'll make it happen. I work best with deadlines.

I also really like to cook. I make some weird stuff, but most of the time it comes out well. My most recent odd meal was pumpkin sauce for pasta. It sounds weird, but it worked really well. I make normal stuff too...but it's not as fun. I love to bake, my favorite kitchen appliance (really? yes!) is my Kitchen Aid mixer. I bake a lot and it saves serious time and energy.

I went to Penn State and didn't go to a single football game. No, you can't take me. I'm really not into sports, but I sometimes play video games and I've been known to do table-top gaming in the past. I'll also kick your butt at trivia games.

I guess I'm looking for someone who would opt to a museum instead of a club. Who won't mind a good-natured argument. Someone who will cook with me, and talk, and laugh, but also enjoy sitting and reading a book.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently doing customer service for a lawn care company. It's just as exciting as it sounds. I do get some interesting stories from some crazy customers though.

I’m really good at

Making some awesome brownies and doing vintage hairstyles.

The first things people usually notice about me

My glasses. Possibly also the fact that I'm 5'8".

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I'm very into the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. Love the Harry Potter books and Anne Rice. I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately, especially Michael Pollan.

Music: I like country music and the "old-timey" stuff (from the 40s, 50s, and 60s), but I do listen to top 40 music sometimes too. Savage Garden, Elvis, Brad Paisley, Sugarland

Food: I like lots of different kinds of foods, I also like trying new food. Favorites are comfort foods, like macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. Chicken pot pie is awesome too.

The six things I could never do without

Family, sunscreen (I'm super pale), laptop and Internet

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Sewing projects, work, what's for dinner?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I yell out the answers when I watch trivia shows. It's true.
