First thing's first: I'm a bit shy. I'm not likely to send you the first message, but I'll definitely reply, so get us started! :-)

What I'm really looking for is somebody reliable. Somebody who doesn't take 6 hours to respond to every single text, who is going to be where he says he's going to be *when* he says he's going to be there, and generally know what's going on. I've finally realized that I've had entirely too many flakes in my life and it's time I met somebody solid.

I sometimes think I'm actually a '50s housewife born into the wrong decade (and the wrong body). I would be perfectly content to stay at home and keep the house clean, cook all sorts of lovely dishes, and just generally take care of my man. That's not to say I'm terribly passive, I just enjoy taking care of people and making a nice home.

I'm really low-key. I'm not really a high-energy kind of person unless I'm flitting about the house cooking or cleaning or at work trying to keep the hotel running smoothly. In my downtime, you're most likely to see me glued to the same spot for hours at a time reading, napping, playing video games, or watching TV. Apparently it's social suicide to admit this, but I don't care for clubs/bars, I don't see the point in dancing until I can't dance anymore, and I don't like spending the day hiking to the top of a mountain just because the mountain is there.

I'm not really sure yet. I earned my BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in LGBT Studies from Appalachian State University in December '11. Right now I'm just working to get myself into a stable position. I'm employed and always on the lookout for a job that will put me a step up; gotta pay off those student loans somehow!

I guess I'm pretty good at being dependable. I'm the kind of guy who is always there no matter what; if you need something, if you're in trouble, if something goes wrong, I'm your guy. Otherwise, I don't really think I'm good at much else. Writing, maybe, but that'll depend on whether you like what I write or not. And video games, but most people wouldn't call that a "real" skill :-p

I'm also damn good at moving through crowds. I'm short and I walk quickly, but I'm also not afraid to bowl people over, so you want me for your shopping buddy on Black Friday ;-)

Probably my height, I'm fairly short. Either that or my blue eyes.

I love almost all books, most especially old ones. I have an odd affinity for really old books; not really reading them, just having them.

I don't always watch TV, but when I do, it's stuff like Glee and Grey's Anatomy.

My music tastes tend toward last generation's, but it's eclectic. I've gotten into modern/pop a lot more now that I have a chance to listen to the radio/Pandora on the way to work every day. I'll always have a soft spot for techno and dance music a la Cascada and DJ Sammy.

As for food, I LOVE to cook, so I'm willing to try just about anything.

In no particular order:

My iPhone, coffee, books, my computer, affection/companionship, the Internet.

What I can do to get ahead in life, particularly what I can do to get myself out of my current job situation and into one that I enjoy (or can at least tolerate).

Working. I work the front desk of a hotel in Pineville, trying to make some sort of name for myself, so I'm usually there. Otherwise, if I'm not working, I'm hanging out with my besties playing video games, board games, or getting into the liquor cabinet.

I have a weakness for tall guys? I dunno, is that a private thing?
