My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A turtle was walking down an alley in NYC....... when he was mugged
by a gang of snails. A police detective came to investigate and
asked the turtle if he could explain what happened. The turtle
looked at the detective with a confused look on his face and
replied “I don't know, it all happened so fast........” Enough of
the turtle jokes...I'm looking for an intelligent, caring,
professional guy with a sense of humor for a serious relationship.
Me?...secure, passionate, curious and engaged in life, career
competent, very open minded, risk taker...um...calculated risk
taker!...in the spirit of adventure and learning. Fun loving girl,
with a serious side. Two terrific, normal kids, on their way to
being great adults, one in college, has boomeranged. I am easy
going, very casual and unpretentious, though I do appreciate the
finer things. Honest and genuine. If it looks like I'm interested
in what you have to say, it's because I am! Fun to be with.Love to
travel and explore, especially Europe; interested in cultures other
than my own; serious volunteer for an international organization-
it's a passion for me. Love movies, and have a wide range of
tastes- Believe it or not, have a side job getting paid to see
movies! Big reader, too. NY Times on Sunday, good fiction, non
fiction. Also like to write- Looking to share the pleasures of life
with someone...who is spirited, independent, soulful, fun, and has
a zest for life. There's nothing better than a good sense of humor
and heart to heart conversation. I love my friends, but only one or
two call me by my nickname- I'd love to find the kind of playful
intimacy where that's only natural. Meet me and my yellow lab at
the dog park?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For work- non profit management. That has kept me growing professionally and personally for many years. Like most who do non profit work, I lean over to the left.
Kids are pretty much raised, tho if you have older kids you know it's a different set of issues. They know I am open and can handle anything they bring me, so we talk a lot, laugh a lot, and I am feeling good about the relationships we have grown into.
I volunteer for an organization I love which creates global citizens with an eye towards world peace- so "sixties", so worth it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting to know people and having fun while doing it. Being accepting. Doing what I say I am going to do. Talking police out of giving me speeding tickets.
The first things people usually notice about me

This changes all the time...food? That's easy, the spicier the better, and love to experiment with ethnic dining. Music- Bon Hiver, Ray Lamontagne, funky friday.. and whatever's on xpn and new and interesting. Movies- so many, lots of indie, action, a great movie moves you, and doesn't necessarily fit into one genre or another. Reading a novel called "Submission" about designing the 9/11 memorial- clue- they unknowingly select a Muslim architect.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friendship
Intimacy
Interesting work to do
Art
Of course, my kids
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Much too much time thinking about relationships.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Varies- dinner with friends, crashing at home with a good book or movie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once dated a Republican. Unknowingly.

If you consider yourself a little "different" but still have your feet on the ground, have a great sense of humor, and are looking for a relationship with someone who will value you for the person you are.
