My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My pseudo-niece says I "rock awesome!" To maintain said awesomeness, I catch my favorite bands as often as possible, photograph frequently, and seek adventures in and out of the city. Seriously though, a bold statement such as publicly declaring my awesomeness seemed like the best way to tackle the fact I don't open up super easily. While I tend to be a bit reserved, with the right person I open up pretty quickly. I'm told I have a unique sense of humor. I'm super loyal to the people in my life and would take having a small number of close friends over a large number of acquaintances any day.

I'm a friend of the earth and take recycling and sustainability seriously. Growing up in West Virginia contributed to my love of the outdoors and when I've got good company to share it with, I'm always up for hiking, kayaking, camping, or the like. I stay very active and am looking for a new challenge to push me out of my comfort zone. In that past couple of years, I've gravitated toward obstacle races because they make running interesting and challenging for me, but I'd like to try rock climbing or train for a sprint triathlon to take things up a notch. I'm looking forward to running in the first annual 10k (and my first 10k) across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge this fall.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My love of photography and interest in history primed me for a career in digitization for the federal government. I have reformatted some truly spectacular maps, photographs, documents, and artifacts for my agency's publications, exhibits, and special projects. I'm currently contemplating an advanced degree.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Photography: I like to relinquish control by shooting primarily with toy cameras and love the surprises newly developed film brings. I enjoy taking workshops that explore alternative and/or historical photo processes. Gum bichromate printing is my new favorite alt process.

Cooking: Cooking well for myself (and others) helps me maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I also find cooking to be an expressive art form that is calming and brings me a lot of gratification. I taught myself to make sushi and love trying out new recipes on unsuspecting friends and co-workers--I've never had any complaints; only compliments! I don't have much of a sweet tooth and baking is a little too precise for my liking, but I've recently been tempted by a recipe for beeramisu--ahh, the wonders of beer.

Sharing my passion for music: I am constantly searching for new music that reinvigorates me. Though an antiquated practice, I absolutely love sharing my finds with friends by making them mix CDs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My mini-ness--"Though she be but little, she is fierce!" pretty much applies to me.

I haven't had a lack of compliments on my eyes--normally blue, but sometimes green. My nose is also pretty unique--even though it's a result of my Czech heritage, I was once told many years ago that my profile resembles Dutch portraiture.

2013-- Purity Ring, Morrissey, The Vaccines, Man, Man, Murder By Death, Alt-J, Every Time I Die, The Joy Formidable, Foals, DIIV, How To Destroy Angels, Psychic Teens, and Diarrhea Planet.

2012 was my biggest concert-going year ever! Some of the amazing bands I saw included: Dum Dum Girls, Flogging Molly, Wu Lyf, Youth Lagoon, Oberhofer, M83, Band of Horses, A Place to Bury Strangers, The Joy Formidable, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Fort Lean, The Drums, Chromatics, Metallica, Hot Snakes, Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Zola Jesus, Freelance Whales, Silversun Pickups, Purity Ring, Primus, and Local H.

Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why some people only come into our lives for a short time, while others come into our lives to remain.

Something best said by Anselm Kiefer..."In boredom you are at the base of existence. You don't experience yourself when you're not bored".
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Perfectly happy either meeting up with friends or taking it easy at home working on photo stuff, making a new playlist, or enjoying a good beer and a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty sure I was filmed sneaking a whiff of the Magna Carta while photographing the 700 year old document on the job. What can I say, I love the scent of old parchment!

You... prefer a lady that is drama-free, low maintenance, super easy going, and not overly girly.

Can be OK with the likelihood that I will not live super close to you-- I live some distance from D.C., Baltimore, NoVa, and some parts of SoMD.
