My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
colors, motorcycles, bicycles, things that go, chasing squirrels, coffee, climbing things, building things, natural history collections, woodwork, cabinetry, stripes, old books, good records, red, guitars, dancing, nice wool socks, the smell of tea, citrus, hitch hiking, the color and taste of bourbon. and lists.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
i used to chase birds as a field ecologist--catching them, squeezing them, generally harassing them in the name of science. i grew up building things, and missing it brought me to san francisco where i work as a cabinetmaker and finish carpenter. i really like the process-oriented nature of fitting materials together that happens in building. it's a constant state of problem solving--except when it's sweat work, but even that's pretty good most of the time. i enjoy working with my hands, but i like to read books too. i escaping to go climbing, backpacking, adventuring. traipsing around under big trees. the sierras are nuts.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
folding. organizing messes into tidy piles of smaller messes. joining bits of wood together. bashing my knuckles whenever i use a wrench. jamming my bashed knuckles into cracks in rocks and then pulling down. bailing on my big wall climbing attempts--but sometimes making it to the top. tying knots. untying knots. sharpening my pencil with my knife. looking for buried treasure in record stores and flea markets.
