I am irreverent, curious, and kind.

My Self-Summary

the last two months have been a whirlwind: new state, new job, new dog. it's been terrifying and fun at the same time, but now i'm looking to dig deeper--turn acquaintances into friends, find places in the area that i really love, finally teach my forty-pound puppy not to jump up on the neighbor. i like smaller shindigs over bigger parties. i can't believe i just used the word "shindig." i'm politically liberal and i don't believe that there is one right religion or set of beliefs. i don't think sarcasm and compassion are mutually exclusive. ten bucks at a time, i'm saving up for a trip to iceland.

I’m really good at

striking up conversations with strangers, dog walks, laughing loudly and often inappropriately, flip cup, road trips, curating the DVR, baking bread

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

tv: the wire, friday night lights, the office, 30rock, sports night, veronica mars, mad men

movies: all about my mother, lost in translation, con air (no, really), the royal tenenbaums, the animated robin hood, kill bill, groundhog day

music: neko case, nina simone, the national, bob dylan, wilco, sam cooke, the stones, dolly parton, the avett brothers

The six things I could never do without

my dog, although her thinghood is doubtful. a book on deck. red onions, preferably caramelized/sauteed/roasted (although i suppose that's just getting picky). free weekend and night minutes. power windows. a getaway plan.

On a typical Friday night I am

ideally hanging out with a small group of friends on a porch, splitting a six-pack or two while we laugh so hard that my stomach hurts afterwards.

You should message me if

you can make me laugh, you can laugh at others' jokes; you're tolerant, you're interested in the world, you vote, you like your life and have room for another friend, you noticed the missing apostrophe in my username but don't hold it against me, you appreciate a damn good grilled cheese sandwich
