I am intelligent, stubborn, and silly.
My Self-Summary
IF YOU'RE A DUDE I PROBABLY DON'T LIKE YOU. Unless you're tall,
skinny, awkward-bodied, and semi-androgynous.
I am very much a
Scorpio, and I totally love astrology. I
just don't live my life by it. I am obnoxious, pushy, verbally
aggressive, opinionated, and arrogant. These all sound like bad
traits, but I swear they make me a fun person to debate. I am
passionate and intense about everything. If you don't like
Buffy the Vampire
Slayer (or you aren't willing to try), don't bother trying to
be my friend. I've always been a geek, but I've been a little more
into geek culture as of late, having gone to Dragon*Con this year.
I love photography,
classic film, and playing drums and
clawhammer banjo. I'm culturally (not religiously) Jewish, and that
matters a lot to me. But it doesn't matter that people I associate
with are Jewish--I'm just typically not comfortable with religious
people. I'm really into unconventional fashion. I have the
best-equipped closet ever, and it's mostly full of clothes that
were thrifted or free (from clothing swaps). Oh, and I'm an ISTJ.
What I’m doing with my life
I am doing: Preschool teaching. Playing
Nintendo DS. Making DIY mic stands
so I can play bass and sing at the same time in Beatles Rock Band
(just call me Paul). Hanging out with my
kittehs.
I want to be doing: Nothing. Funemployment. Going to local shows
and parties. Possibly graduate school in guidance counseling.
Possibly teaching elementary education. Probably moving elsewhere
in a year.
I’m really good at
Storing useless information about every television show or movie
I've seen. Math.
Cooking and
baking. Putting together insane outfits
that no one in their right mind would wear, and mustering up the
self-confidence to wear them out of the house.
Thrift store fashion.
The first things people usually notice about me
My ever-changing haircolor and personal style...I am a bit of a
chameleon.
My verbal presence. My loudly-expressed opinions. People always say
that when you're talking to me, you're always wrong because I
always have to be right. This is not true. I love it when you
disagree with me, because it gets me passionate about things! But,
"WHAT? No, you're totally wrong, that band sucks," is definitely
something you hear me say on a regular basis. I am also blunt--if
you're wondering what I think of the person you just started
dating, don't hesitate to ask, because I'll give you an honest
opinion.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
Neil
Gaiman,
Babysitters Club, Lemony
Snicket, William Shakespeare, most creepy children's books.
Movies: Woody Allen (especially
Annie Hall), Tim Burton (especially
Ed Wood),
Clueless, Indiana
Jones series (especially
Last Crusade),
Wolfgang Reitherman
Disney movies, Mel Brooks,
animated short films, most
Billy
Wilder, most Hitchcock (especially
Rebecca and
Vertigo). I'll watch pretty much
anything, and I have eclectic tastes. I have a list of my 50
favorites of all time. If you're interested.
Music:
Sleater-Kinney. Old-school
Green Day.
Blink-182.
Bands my friends are in. Pop-punk,
Riot Grrrl, Feminist Rock, Queercore,
to name a few. As of late,
Failures' Union and
Tegan and
Sara.
Food: Most things I make. Some particular favorites are avocadoes,
ratatouille, chili,
vegan baked goods, tomatoes,
squash of every sort, and macaroni and cheese made with nooch,
creole seasoning, and mustard.
The six things I could never do without
1. My kittehs.
2. My sense of self, which is very strong and stable.
3. Coke Zero.
4. The complete
BtVS/
Buffy, as well as the
Simpsons seasons 3-9 on DVD.
5. Something to play music, and a sizeable collection of music to
listen to.
6. Some means to communicate with people that aren't near me. Cell
phone, envelopes and stamps, computer, etc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I should be doing instead of what I am doing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either sitting at home eating vegan mac and cheese and watching a
movie by myself...or at an insane party that my friends are
throwing...or at a local
DIY punk show. Occasionally having
dinner with my family.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm not bisexual or 100% a woman. OKC operates under a gender
binary, and it makes it difficult to explain to you my gender and
sexual preferences. "Bisexual" implies that I'm only attracted to
cismen and ciswomen. UNTRUE! With me, anything goes!
I am pansexual, and I've been attracted to a whole lotta different
genders. I tend to like androgynous--if you're a cisman, I will
probably only like you if you're skinny and couldn't beat me in a
wrestling match. If you're a ciswoman, I will probably only like
you if you have short hair and a strong personality.
I am inconsistently gendered. Usually I consider myself a woman,
but sometimes I consider myself genderqueer or androgynous, and
other times I consider myself a boy/boi. Pronoun me however you'd
like. Most people tend to assume I'm a woman, and I very rarely
correct them.
You should message me if
I'm not really sure what to say here, so I'm going to mention
something pretty important to me.
We don't have to agree upon everything to be friends. I am intense,
sometimes caustic, in my opinions, but I appreciate when people
disagree with me. It makes for interesting conversation and
broadens my world view.
That said, I don't think I could ever date someone who was
anti-abortion, homophobic, or anti-Semitic. To be close with me, we
have to at least sort of agree on the things that are the most
important to me. Queer culture, Jewish culture, and feminism are
three of those things. Those for whom this does not strike a chord
need not apply.
Also, I have no interest in you if you're more than a couple years
older than me. I tend to be attracted to 18-26 or so. Outside that
age range it's pretty safe to assume I'm uninterested.
