My self-summary
Santa Barbara native ditches perfect weather to pursue a career in graphic arts in the foggy bay. Discovers art careers aren't all they're cracked up to be, nor is the bay all that foggy but still manages to carve out a niche for himself. Admittedly the advertising promotion years are a bit of a blur, but totally worth the experience (the expense accounts were nice too.) Artist by choice, scientist by nature, nature lover at heart, connoisseur of the finest internet cat photos.

The sun and I are not on speaking terms due to multiple attempted murders. Circadian rhythm may as well not be a thing at all these days, but at least I got a cool scar out of the deal.

Else: Smirking, squinting, exaggerated sighs, entirely too excitable around fat animals.
What I’m doing with my life
Photoshop shenanigans and warping impressionable minds. Somehow I thought teaching would be a good idea, and even more baffling is that some people think I'm good at it. Bless their hearts.

Otherwise freelance illustrator/consultant. Currently working on a couple of table top games, because why not?

Other hobbies:
- Building micro-environments (freshwater)
- Reckless culinary experimentation
- being forced to do a whole lot of this
- getting students worked up about Pokemon just so I can call them nerds

- oh yea and that.
I’m really good at
- Thinking with portals.
- Making inappropriate analogies.
- Touching my tongue to the inside of my cheek, as it were.
- Reminding cougars that being older than my mother is still not a turn on. Reeking of Chanel No. 5 and desperation kinda is though.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've got two different shoes on again, haven't I?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
(I) Books: Pretty serious man-crush on John Green. Murakami, Chuck Klosterman, John Berendt, David Cordingly, Andrew Meier, Heinlein, Clarke, Adams and -yes- the ever present Vonnegut.

(II) Movies: Six String Samurai, Adrift in Tokyo and The Iron Giant are beautiful, you shut your filthy mouth. Wild Zero, Iron Sky and Hobo with a Shotgun are my type of dumb.

(III) Shows: David Attenborough narrates my dreams. Brushing up on MacGyver just in case.

(IV) Music: You know, stuff. Here's a small sample of stuff you may not have heard of, click on something and let me know if it was good for you too. HA HA INNUENDO.

DJ Shadow, RJd2, blockhead, Babyland, Trentemøller, God is an Astronaut, Tub Ring, Xpolding Plastix, Yonderboi, Nicolas Repac, Caravan Palace, Doctor Flake, Parov Stelar, Seasick Steve, Archive, Aloe Blacc, Junior Wells, Chilly Gonzales

Yea lots of other stuff too.

(V) Food: There are two crock pots in the apartment and I abuse each accordingly. Tenderly, don't you fret. If the apartment doesn't smell like curry or stew you should probably call the police.
The six things I could never do without
(1) Wordplay.
(2) Smirks, unsubtle winks, and knowing glances.
(3) Humorously false outrage.
(4) Creative freedom.
(5) My turtle - little did I know it was a 50-70 year commitment when I was 10. Good thing for her that she's an adorable simpleton, I guess.
(6) Wu-Tang?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I still kinda want to be a dinosaur. :(
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually throwing a BBQ, playing Cards Against Humanity and/or getting thoroughly destroyed in Mario Party.

If you were hoping to read "clubs" I'm a bit wubbed out. I prefer dives and conversation... unless we're talking Butter.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I bet my tattoos are nerdier than yours.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–33
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
-You want to be my new Academy of Sciences/Exploratorium buddy. Maybe eventually we can graduate up to partners in mad science, if we're not both terrified of commitment. My housemates are getting grumbly about being drafted.

-You feel like it. You still wont do it, but let's entertain the thought.

-You think Old Boy is the perfect first date movie.

-Try as you might, you just can't cook, but you enjoy it anyway.
