I'm really bad at these. I know thats what everyone says, right? I'm a full time student. I dont work and I live at home, and I'm OK with that. Haha. The most important things in my life are music, language, and my friends. I guess this year ive decided that i'm going to give optimism a try. it is the golden age after all. up to this point ive been pretty pessimistic, but i feel like your outlook can really influence how your experiences are... experienced. therefore, i choose to step out of the rain and into the sun.
nothing bothers me more than irresponsible people. i hate that more than anything. the way i was raised was to take responsibility for your actions, and i hate when people just try to write things off or manipulate or turn them around.
i have a couple really really close friends and a ton of fond acquaintances that i get together with frequently.

I was pretty much talked into this by several friends of mine. I'm pretty apprehensive about meeting people online because I've done it before and it has always ended terribly. I'm giving it another go, prove me wrong that not everyone you meet online is a total creep.

as you can see now im going to try to show off my "language skills" to impress you hahaha. if you speak one of these and notice a mistake, no matter how little, PLEASE inform me so i dont look like an idiot. thank you : )

I would like to teach English as a foreign language. So I'm in school right now working on my bachelor's, and plan on getting my master's. PhD perhaps some day. I currently volunteer for the Washtenaw Literacy Group teaching English as a second language. My plan is to eventually go to grad school OUT of michigan and eventually teach in a university in europe. that would be fantastic. will it actually happen? who knows, but I'll try.

My height. I also get a lot of comments about my expressions, I can get pretty intense and animated at times when I'm talking. I guess you could say I emote a lot? haha.

books: Ever since I took a class on theories of gender and sexuality I've been devouring Michael Foucault, Judith Butler, and David Halperin. Very interesting stuff to me. Also, I like House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger, Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk, The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brien, anything dystopic (especially 1984 by George Orwell), anything Flannery O'Connor (especially A Good Man Is Hard to Find), anything Ayn Rand (especially Atlas Shrugged), anything Jorge Luis Borges (especially El jardín de senderos que se bifurcan)

movies: Nowhere, Requiem for a Dream, basically any movie about kids who do bad things. and i love horror movies! Haha.

music: i could never even know how to begin to answer this question. just ask me.

food: mexican! dessert! taco bell! pretty much anything that is not chinese or thai. i can do sushi. Speaking of taco bell, i could live off taco bell, if i had the money and a chance to, i would eat it several times a day, morning noon and night. The punch line is that i used to work there. they have surprisingly high standards i found. I will NOT eat at burger king. I have also worked there. thinking about it right now makes me queasy.

either sitting in a diner with some friends drinking coffee or out drinking alcohol somewhere. i like going to parties and bars and clubs and just being social overall. the more people i can talk to, the better.
