My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a mover. I was born outside of Nashville. Lived all over Ohio growing up. Chicago was next for many years. Then a stint in the Pacific Northwest between Portland and Seattle. I am hoping that New York is a place I can call home for some time. I have missed living in a big city ever since leaving Chicago and even though I have been here for no time at all it already feels more like home than anywhere I have been since I left Chicago.

As of late, my work is my life. I love my job and I have done it for a long time. I work with great people and my job is constantly changing and new challenges arise everyday. I am very goal oriented and driven when it comes to my career.

I enjoy using my hands...whether it cooking, baking or creating....I am somewhat domestic I suppose. When looking for a partner or friend, I am looking for someone that will motivate me to take more time to be creative.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am just going through life trying to enjoy it and also trying to do something good. One life long goal I have is to leave this world a little better then when I was here. My plan now is to just treat people kindly and pass on compassion. I think that can make a bigger impact than any of us realize.

I am also trying to move forward with my career. I don't want to say that I am a workaholic, but it is very important to me and I tend to put in long days. I have very specific goals and therefore work daily to ensure that the long term becomes shorter and shorter.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
being kind. sharing. fixing things. baking. cooking. delivering jokes. party planning. wrapping packages. (by the way these are all things that my friends are spouting off after just asking them what i was good at....)

And now I think I can add apartment hunting to this list... I found an apartment in NYC within the first four days of moving here. I've been told that is some sort of record.
The first things people usually notice about me

My best friend said that it is how skinny I am...... I don't think that I am THAT skinny. Although this morning I was waiting at the bus stop and the bus just went right by as though I weren't there. After explaining to my boss why I was late, she asked me if I was standing sideways because the bus driver probably couldn't see me if so.

After that... maybe my smile?

Books... Most people think I read boring books. Just to name a few: The Orchid Thief, China Wakes, The Vagina Monologues and I have a soft spot for a great children's book.

Pride and Prejudice and Dream Girls.

Music... Mozart, Chopin, Ella, Billie, Patsy Cline, A little bit country, A little bit rock and roll, Nancy Griffith, Joni Mitchell, Rach's 3rd, Gorecki's 3rd, GirlTalk, Santogold, Ladytron, Best of Bootie, Cachao, Things I can sing along with, Anything Sara M. recommends, Marlene D.

Food....Ethiopian, Indian, Thai, Comfort, Any food I am allowed to eat with my hands (there is a reason for this.... just ask, and I will explain), Really open....I am a big time food guy in an amateur way. Butter is my favorite food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My best friend Sara M.
2. My Cubs hat
3. A good cup of coffee (which is hard to find in NYC I am noticing)
4. My work
5. Butter
6. The Creative Process
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What to make for dinner.
Where I am headed.
How to help.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't think there is such a thing as a typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

That's tough... I am pretty much an open book, not a lot of secrets. Hmmm. I sometimes cry when I watch gameshows because I get so happy for the people that win lots of money and they have like 10 kids, no house, and their car broke down on the way to the show.... you know, the kind of people that have worked hard and just can't make it. I am always really happy for them and it makes me cry. Tears of joy of course. PS> I am a pretty sensitive guy if that didn't spell it out for you. :)
