I'm a small town country girl and a history nerd all in one. I can
be just as happy fishing, camping, hiking, riding horses, and
shooting as I can be inside reading a book or watching a movie. I
like to go out with friends, travel, or just hangout at home. I
don't need a relationship to complete me, but would love to find
someone interested in joining in the fun!
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an aide at an elementary school. I enjoy helping children
learn and grow, and needless to say my days are never boring and I
always have a good story to tell when I get home. Kids really do
say the darndest things. I have a B.S. in History and some day I
plan on using my degree for more than answering Jeopardy questions,
but for now I am more than content with a worthwhile job that I
love. Plus, you can't beat having 3 months off every year.
I’m really good at
Ahh, the question that always makes me feel conceited. Apparently
I'm a good listener. I tend to be the one friends want to bounce
ideas off of and I don't mind.
I also have a knack for collecting odd facts and quotes, especially
lines from movies. It's a gift :).
The first things people usually notice about me
Is that I tend to be quiet until I feel comfortable. When I finally
come out of my shell I tend to surprise people, but not in a bad
way. Oh, and that I'm short. That's probably first. Unless you look
right over top of me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm not actually supposed to write a book here am I? I love
books, nerd remember? I am currently carrying on an affair with my
Kindle who allows me to carry hundreds of books around with me at
one time. My all time favorite book is Jane Eyre, but I could list
favorite books for hours. I recently lost months of my life to the
Song of Ice and Fire series, but I can (and will) read just about
anything. Usually my tastes usually gravitate towards historical
Movies: Again, I could list titles for ever. I love old movies, new
movies, action movies, horror movies, chick flicks, you name it.
However, sometimes the campier the better: Drop Dead Gorgeous is
definitely in my top five, along with Slither, Spaceballs, and
Office Space. Ultimate favorite though would have to be Monty
Python's Holy Grail.
TV: I admit I watch WAY too much tv, but it's my way of
decompressing after work. Favorites: Modern Family, The Middle, 30
Rock, Arrested Development, Castle, NCIS, Bob's Burgers, Grimm, and
Game of Thrones.
Music: I've had my phase of being into most every kind of music. I
still enjoy it all, but currently I'm usually listening to country
music and going to a lot of country concerts. That said, you can
find a little bit of everything on my iPod.
Food: Anything but seafood. Never been a fan.
The six things I could never do without
Being able to travel
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What's next in life. As more and more friends get married and have
children, one can't help but feel left behind and think about
what's next for themselves.
On a typical Friday night I am
Tired after a long week of wrangling little kids and ready to relax
with dinner and a movie or catching up with my dvr. I know it
doesn't sound very exciting, but it's a necessary evil to be mobile
by the weekend :).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hate clowns, and/or anything in costume. They've always freaked
me out. I was that kid on Santa's lap screaming.
You should message me if
You wanna chat.
