My Self-Summary

i can't believe i just turned 30- I still like watching Degrassi the Next Generation (it's where i learn all my life lessons).

All in all, I'm a big nerd. Or dork. Or geek. I can't remember which one I am, but I am definitely less than the cool-kid variety.

What I’m doing with my life

pushing papers during the day, painting at night, maybe a few episodes of some quality television (30 rock, the Wire, BSG, Weeds, Glee, etc.), thinking about starting an indoor garden, keeping up with nataliedee.com (and lolcats), enjoying the last of the warm weather in Chicago.

I’m really good at

making bad jokes (and laughing at said bad jokes myself until i start crying), board games (and being a board game nazi), procrastinating, weighing my options, coming up with creative meals from leftovers, walking, photohunt, knowing a little of something about everything.

The first things people usually notice about me

i have no idea, perhaps my winning, crooked, smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

i love bookstores, i gravitate toward the YA fiction section, but love reading most anything.

i love music, and made it through lollapalooza again this year despite the rain and torturing heat. i especially enjoy: morphine, the cure, 80s synth, lcd soundsystem, regina spektor, discovery, depeche mode, new order, band of horses, etc.

movies- i used to have a skill where whilst flipping channels i could name any movie within 10 seconds of seeing it. those skills are diminishing, but i'm still pretty good at it. this is not to say i have seen every single movie out there, i just happen to have a good movie/pop culture memory. that being said, i like: movies from the 80s, intelligent quirky films, movies like airplane, a league of their own, a few good men, clue, murder by death, and a whole lot more.

The six things I could never do without

coffee, my chicago card, music, comfortable shoes, the little things in life, my eyesight (i should perhaps put my hearing as well, otherwise what would i do with the aforementioned music)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

funny things to put on t-shirts, the CTA, my new haircut (and why my hair won't cooperate on the back of my head), the future, what to eat, the weather, and how to make money doing something i love.

On a typical Friday night I am

maybe at a friend's house playing board games, maybe out for a walk, or maybe enjoying an adult beverage somewhere.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I need to do laundry asap.
