Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy, or in my case, veteran, engineer, pharmacy tech, philosopher. Doesn't quite roll off the tongue as well, but such is life.
I love playing strategy, board, or card games inside as much as paintballing, shooting hoops, or hiking outside. There's a lot of life out there to be lived, and you don't want to miss it.
I'm more impressed by (and attracted to) someone that can make a good case for why they disagree with me than someone that can't make a good case for why they agree with me. There is more validation in surviving a challenge than in avoiding one.
What I’m doing with my life
I volunteer in my church's youth programs, tutor kids at our associated school, and work VBS and MDA camp in the summer. I also work with Junior Bible Quiz, which is an awesome kids ministry (Ps 119:11). I went to school to be a pharmacy technician, mostly as an entry level position in healthcare. Wound up marketing Medicare alternatives. Go figure. Despite this, I'll always be an engineer at heart. Trying to pick up German and American Sign Language, The former due to my heritage; the latter because I hate not being able to communicate.
I’m really good at
Listening to others and helping them face their problems.
Computer and board games.
Making comfort food.
The first things people usually notice about me
Apparently my eyes, particularly their color, to the point where a couple of friends call me "Blue-eyes". Not the manliest of nicknames, but I like it all the same.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I just like books in general. Military and political history are particular favorites.
Movies: Chronicles of Narnia, Stargate, Transformers (don't judge me), Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel's Avengers series, Cool Runnings, Tall Tale
TV Shows: Stargate, Star Trek, Over There, Coming Home, Big Bang Theory, Agents of SHIELD, NCIS, NCIS:LA, and of course, the ever-classic original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
Music: dc talk, Plus One, Newsboys, tobymac, Switchfoot, Owl City, Taylor Swift (again with the not judging), Skillet, Weird Al, Go Fish, Chris Rice
Food: If it's edible, I'll probably go for it
The six things I could never do without
God, family, friends, music, Americana, and a good pair of blue jeans
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to make a difference in the world. Why people only care about
what they want in the present, instead of what's best for them in
the long run.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching TV or a movie, hanging w/ friends, and wishing I had a
special someone to share it all with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I'm not where I want to be or who I want to be, but that's okay as long as I'm a little closer tomorrow than I was yesterday.
You should message me if
If you'd like to know more about me.
If Jesus is still alright with you.
If you like guys that make obscure references to songs they like.
If you don't settle for less than 100%.
If you're up to the challenge.
