I am quiet, grimy, and bittersweet.
My Self-Summary
I lead a highly charged affair with visual culture, thus the
recently acquired Art History degree. Haunt galleries and museums
regularly. Illustration, animation, comic book preoccupation. Pitch
in with theatre sets and festivals (try to). Atempting to sneak
into film work, just watch I'll be the star behind the stars yet.
Maybe easy-going and drama free. Maybe a barrel of dark humour
laughs once I quit with all that quiet shit. An eager traveller and
not prone to homesickness. I'm not from this great big land of
yours but from another great big land across that great big ocean.
Due to this I fancy learning cultural tidbits and harsh new
languages. I like all manner of folk, but dislike most I meet (oh
it makes sense alright).
What I’m doing with my life
Floating in that depressing limbo state that tends to settle over
an art grad.
I’m really good at
doodles and other artsy activities, pointing out things most
overlook, daydreams, being overly trusting, collecting trinkets
galore, attracting the odd ones wherever I go, making pb&j
sandwiches at work under the radar, reading on buses, being a
hopeful romantic, thinking up large scale creative projects that
never amount to anything beyond grandiose ideas, acquiring mostly
black clothing items, being paranoid, finding and hoarding old
family photographs, making spontaneous food combinations that
usually are great & dispensing useless interesting (to me)
facts (whether you want them or not)
The first things people usually notice about me
that's one to ask the people
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: let's say I enjoy books immensely and to pick favourites
would be unfair. I have a habit of buying more books than I can
read, which leads to stacks and bags of unread books all over my
room. Currently on "American Gods"
Movies: J'adore French cinema (A Very Long Engagement, Love Me If
You Dare, You & Me) and many other wonderful foreign films. The
Fall, Wristcutter's A Love Story, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, It's a
Wonderful Life, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine, Hot Fuzz etc. film
noir, documentaries, macho action, experimental art films, heist
films, old old black and whites..Series: Carnivale, Breaking Bad,
30 Rock, Party Down, Californication, the Office, It's Always Sunny
in Philadelphia..
Music: Spans from punk to french 60s pop to eastern European
ballads to metal to electronica to jazz and all the fun stuff in
between. I'm not too critical of genres as long as I enjoy the
music; I've long since jumped off my high horse when it comes to
that. I'll listen to rap and I'll listen to country, merit in some
but not all. Some long standing favourites - Yeah Yeah Yeahs,
Helium, Distillers, Rammstein, Giant Drag, Crystal Castles,
Dinosaur Jr, Rob Zombie, Brigitte Bardot, Rilo Kiley, Stereo
Totale, Danzig, Regina Spektor, Smashing Pumpkins, the Pixies,
Smiths, Le Tigre, Ditty Bops, Alkaline Trio and so on...
Food: I love cooking it and eating it. All sorts of cuisine with
Thai and Indian holding a special place. The summer food oriented
festivals are some of the year's highlights for me.
The six things I could never do without
a good book on a bus, chapstick, love, music, my wonderful
family/friends, people watching
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the finer things in life, the many flavours and textures of love,
overthinking the overthought aspects of my life and future
aspirations
On a typical Friday night I am
walking, enjoying some good ol' cheap beer in excess, watching some
live music or a movie, walking, swearing a bunch, wandering
alleyways and scaling rooftops/trees/campers/anything, dancing to
the Pixies in the downstairs while the party goes on upstairs,
walking, playing dirty boardgames, eating, walking, making beer
art, shakin' it on the dancefloor if push comes to shove, walking
some more & basically havin' a gay ol' time in some good
company..
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
my name means protector of mankind. you can sleep safe now.
You should message me if
you feel compelled to after reading all that gibberish
