Okay... I've got a bit of a theory about this. You sometimes need to eat a trashy hamburger to truly appreciate a fillet steak, so here goes.

Books; Anything old and sci-fi is finding favour with me at the moment, particulary Cordwainer Smith. Other favourites include Neal Stephenson, Gibson, Ryu Murakami, China Mieville, lots of other things. Oh, and seeing as I'm female, Neil Gaiman. Obviously. Squee.

Films; Gattaca, Bullet in the head, The Evil Dead trilogy, anything by Scorsese, Flash Gordon.

TV; I don't watch a lot, though one of my formative memories is of watching late night ch4 as a teenager, so Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaam springs to mind.

Music; Very mixed bag. Everything from Iron and Whiiiiiiiiiiine through to Skepticism by way of Shinjuku Thief. Easier to actually talk to me about this than try and list/explain it here.
