I am ., .., and ....

My Self-Summary

i try to lead a balanced life. everything in moderation, including moderation.

What I’m doing with my life

i am now coming out of a post-college confusion phase. after studying philosophy and neuropsychology, i moved back to los angeles and lived a mostly bum life with my companion mary jane, while going between a few different (shitty) jobs. recently I decided to pursue a career in law, so I am now studying for the lsat and preparing applications.

i am also working on some projects that mix analytic philosophy with creative literary form, i occasionally write screenplays for short films for my brother to direct, and i am always looking for interesting collaborative projects to sink my teeth into.

I’m really good at

spittin' logistics

The first things people usually notice about me

i apparently have an 'intense gaze' that intimidates some people at first sight. my hazel-green eyes seem to strike many.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books: gravity's rainbow, the crying of lot 49, ulysses, a portrait of the artist as a young man, the stranger, the fall, the recognitions, heart of darkness, to the lighthouse, white noise, house of leaves, notes from underground, if on a winter's night a traveler, the great gatsby, slaughterhouse-five, nausea, waiting for godot,
a treatise of human nature, prolegomena to any future metaphysics, phenomenology of spirit, beyond good and evil, tractatus logico-philosophicus, being and time, from a logical point of view, ontological relativity, science- perception- and reality, mind and world, a neurocomputational perspective, groundwork of the metaphysics of morals, utilitarianism, a theory of justice, anarchy- state- and utopia

movies: 8 1/2, la dolce vita, 2001: a space oddysey, eyes wide shut, breathless, pierrot le fou, the 400 blows, magnolia, there will be blood, pi, the fountain, american beauty, the royal tenenbaums, city of god, taxi driver, persona, days of heaven, apocalypse now, mulholland drive, waking life

music: radiohead, thom yorke, bright eyes, beck, johnny cash, bob dylan, sigur ros, godspeed you black emperor, explosions in the sky, tortoise, sunset rubdown eminem, aesop rock, el-p, immortal technique, deltron, biggie, dj shadow, skream, venetian snares

I spend a lot of time thinking about

i think way too much about philosophical topics, almost to the point of it being unhealthy. i have a very wittgensteinian view of the world, for those who know what that means and are curious of my general dispositions.

i like to think in terms of symbolic logic as much as possible.

On a typical Friday night I am

chillin with friends, usually. occasionally at a show or a bar around town.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

not so much private as geeky, but i am a huge video game enthusiast.

You should message me if

you like what you see...
