My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been divorced about three years and I'm reinventing myself. I'm in my second iteration and having fun again for the first time in years. I run about five miles a day. I have a kayak and a canoe I haven't used in a while. I'm making a serious effort to spend at least an hour a day with my cello. I think most things in life are more fun when shared with someone you love with fiery intensity. I haven't quite abandoned all hope of this yet. I relocated to the DC area from CT in January.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do biostats for a biotech company. I would like to meet someone I connect with and get it right this time! I take a cello lesson once a week in Bethesda. I just bought a cello so I'm committed now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
getting in over my head. And climbing out again.

I remind them of that guy from office space. No not the cute one. The other one.

These lists are tiresome to read. Any reasonably intelligent person over the age of 25 will have a lengthy list. Making value judgements about people based on such things is absurd. I'm old and I read a lot and I listen to all sorts of stuff and have for many years. Many many years. If our match percentage is over 80 we'll almost certainly have a few things in common here. Unless you're blind and deaf and mute and read nothing but engineering manuals all day long.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
books and stories that take my breath away. Friends who won't laugh at my foolish dreams. A glass of wine at the end of the week and good food and the company of people who make my heart sing. A well-tuned cello. A disheveled pretty lady who will let me bring her eggs and toast and coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to make my cello sound as beautiful as it looks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
usually at home reading or cooking something from my Jerusalem book. Occasionally I'm out climbing or at a pub drinking with a coworker. Or playing with my kindle or my cello.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
REM makes me happy.

You have a wicked sense of humour and you might want to meet in the real world after a few emails. And you're looking for a long-term relationship. Eventually.
