My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
not quite a hippie, not really a techie, not quite girly, not quite a homebody. I'm just me, a fairly nice girl with a fairly nice life. I'm pretty solitary but looking for someone to share my life with, and by life I mean more than one night. Let's start slowly, naturally, and see where it goes later.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it. My job is not my life (although I like my job).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
alternating between many things I enjoy: hiking, yoga, writing, painting stuff (like my car), reading, playing a lot of musical instruments (none of them terribly well)......etc. I have been skydiving three times now and am still terrified.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
1. Friends have compared me to Luna Lovegood. This is good, bad, and indifferent all at once. You get extra points if you understand why.

2. I have sometimes been known to pay for myself on a date or to take turns paying for things. I do this not because it matters but so that it won't be a big deal either way. A date is not supposed to feel like an exchange. (You're not buying me.) It should be something mutual.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
A few books: Davita's Harp, The Neverending Story, Momo, Life of Pi, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. I'm also writing a novel of my own, and it's not going to be on my 'favorite books' list any time soon.

A few movies: Across the Universe (which was everything Moulin Rouge should have been and wasn't), Edward Scissorhands, Heathers, Austin Powers 1&2, Princess Bride (is there anyone who doesn't have this one on the list?), The Last Mimzy (no, really, it's right up there with E.T.). I like most musicals and liked most Muppet productions until Jim Henson died. I was frankly annoyed by the pretentious steaming pile known as Harold and Maude.

Music: I really should skip this one; everyone says 'all kinds.' I keep it tuned to 98 Rock on my car radio because most of the music is fun--macho idiot fun, but fun nonetheless. I bought a CD of Sephardic songs accompanied by acoustic guitar. Reggae began and ended with Bob Marley. Billy Jonas is best in the songs he wrote for adults, not children. The world is about due for another Harry Nilsson. I am a pretty good singer but usually only sing at karaoke.

Food: I am skittish about cooking for other people despite being told I cook really well. I will, however, eat just about anything (keep the olives away, please). Dairy is my favorite food group, if you can call it that. I have been vegetarian before and still like that sort of thing, but I am not vegetarian now. If you lecture me about eating meat, it will only make me want to go out for a bacon cheeseburger (just playing devil's advocate as usual). I am not generally a big fan of beer but enjoy microbrews, especially a nice ESB. I have brewed my own mead before and will probably do it again one of these days.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This question is too linear. I'll just give you a random list: friends, animals (especially cats), the outdoors, spirituality (I'm Pagan), family, bright colors, beautiful music, good things to smell and eat and touch, and time by myself occasionally to do nothing and recharge.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
mostly short term plans: what books and crafts will be next, what to do this weekend, where I am going to go next in my novel, who to call next. I have thought the long term plans to death.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
wondering why Friday night ought to ever be typical. No routine here really. I've been known to go roller skating or ice skating, bake cookies, drop in on family to play Boggle, or just hang out and watch a movie. Or sometimes I use Friday to prepare for Saturday--maybe I'll drive to a motel that night to go hang gliding in the morning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
One time I was making out with a guy and massaging his back, and my cat came along and gently placed a paw on his back. It really freaked him out. I never saw him again. (The guy, not the cat.)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are intelligent and well balanced in most ways. You take care of yourself reasonably well, as most adults do. You understand that I am not a Christian and have no intention of becoming one or going to your church. You prefer participation to being a spectator. You enjoy nature and all it offers but don't damn near kill yourself with outdoor activities. You enjoy reading and geekly pursuits but still have room for other real-life people.
